Some moments are so full of love that they feel like they’ve been lifted straight out of a dream. This sunset proposal at Bakoven Beach in May was one of those moments.

Our couple, who wish to keep their names private, envisioned something intimate and breathtaking: just the two of them, the ocean stretching endlessly before them, and the promise of forever under a pretty Cape Town sky.

We set up their little picnic on a quiet stretch of rock, surrounded by the soft sound of waves and framed by the Twelve Apostles in the distance. With the golden light of sunset spilling across the ocean, he asked her to marry him. Her joy-filled “yes” was met with laughter, happy tears, and a promise that this place will forever be part of their story.

Simple, romantic, and deeply personal — Bakoven gave them the perfect backdrop for a proposal that was nothing short of magical.
