Marquee lights proposal

On the 13th of August 2021, Philip and Nicole got engaged!

They both live and work in Joburg, and were coming down to Cape Town for a weekend break.

We gave them a few venue options and Philip chose to stay at the MARLY hotel, which is situated in Camps Bay. This newly built hotel is part of the Kove Collection.

We suggested this hotel as it has a rooftop deck that overlooks the ocean. However, due to COVID and winter, this rooftop was closed so we had to make use of the inside of their room. He had booked a large suite which was ideal for the decor we had in mind. We were lucky as the weather that night did not play along so the hotel room was perfect.

To start the weekend, Philip booked a COBRA to drive around in for the weekend. They both love cars, formula 1, and adventure, so this was a perfect way to travel. That evening we booked them dinner at Camps Bay Retreat, so they were out while our team set up the hotel room. For decor, we hired in Marquee letters that spelled “MARRY ME”. We added some rose petals to the floor and a bouquet of flowers. We also put together a gift box, which was filled with photos, her favourite chocolates, sweets, and some other fun items.

Our lovely photographer, Bronwyn was booked to hide in the room to capture the proposal. (we just love hiding photographers in strange and wonderful places, they are always up for anything!!)

On their arrival, they zoomed up the Marly driveway in the COBRA and entered the room. Nicole got such a fright and surprise, as the whole place was lit up by large letters! Philip got down on one knee and asked Nicole to marry him, she said yes! They opened bubbly and celebrated this happy occasion.
