On the 26th November 2014 Danie asked Patricia to marry him! A stunning proposal at Spier.

Danie planned a very romantic trip to Cape Town for Patricia, that included going on the Blue Train for a few days. After this they arrived in Cape Town and he called us to put his plan into action. Danie wanted a very romantic picnic under the tree’s. He felt they need to be outdoors in nature surrounded by beautiful scenery. We chatted about venues with Danie and he knew what he wanted in the end.

Danie opted for a picnic proposal at Spier wine farm in Stellenbosch. We were very worried about the rain that day as it had be wet in the morning and the day before. Cape Town weather is unpredictable as we all know but a back up plan was in place. They were very lucky and on the day the rain stayed away and the sun came out! We did a set it up on the lawns in a private spot for them to be alone together. Patricia is a huge fan of pineapples… so we included this in the picnic basket. The delicious picnic food comes from the Spier kitchens where they are very jacked up for picnic’s. We used some bunting flags and ribbons to brighten up the trees behind their picnic spot.

On arrival Patricia was very surprised when she saw the picnic. They were so happy and when Danie went down on one knee she said yes! Katie took some lovely photo’s of the whole event which can be seen below.

Spier is a lovely venue for proposals as it offers so much diversity. There are loads of options for private spots, picnic’s and to stay over for the night. We know of great locations at this venue for some lovely private setup’s. A proposal at Spier we would recommend.
