On the 19th September, Wesley asked his girlfriend Raquel to be his wife. She said YES!
The couple lives in Joburg and has been together for three years. They are adventurous and Wesley wanted a proposal that had a flare of ‘awesomeness’.
Wesley surprised Raquel early that morning, by fetching her and taking her to the airport. Next thing she knew; they were on the plane on their way to Cape Town. She had no idea what they would be doing there or the reason for their trip. It was his birthday that day but she knew nothing else.
Once in Cape Town, they made their way to the depot for the Sidecar Adventures which is in Salt River. They were given a tour on the city and later drove to Hout Bay in the sidecar, where they had lunch. After lunch they drove along Chapman’s Peak, taking in the beautiful views. The driver stopped at a viewpoint on Chapman’s Peak, where the couple got out to stretch their legs and take photos of the view of Hout Bay. As they approached the edge of the viewpoint, Raquel saw the sign saying ‘marry me’ and Wesley got down on one knee beside her. We booked a photographer to capture their special marriage proposal on film. With views like this, we would not want to miss out on any moments.
We were slightly concerned about the weather on the day, as it had been raining all morning. However, on the couple’s arrival at the viewpoint, the clouds rose and it got warmer. They were so lucky with the weather as Cape Town rain can be an all-day affair. Wesley and Racquel enjoyed a fun photo shoot with Lesley, before hopping back into the sidecar and making their way to the airport. We would say this was one adventurous day in Cape Town!
Congratulations to this very sweet couple! We wish you all the best of this exciting journey together. Wesley and Raquel sidecar proposal was AWESOME!
