Babylonstoren marriage proposal

On the 31st May 2014 Trevor & Carley got engaged.It was a very special Babylonstoren marriage proposal.

They had a very romantic weekend away in Franschhoek. Trevor was very involved with the ideas and planning of the proposal thus making it very suited to Carly and what she enjoys! They have been together for seven months and he decided it was time to ask her hand in marriage. As they are from Cape Town, we decided it was next to plan to stay the night as going away is much more fun than going home after a fun day out. Trevor wanted Carly to be very surprised and I think we achieved that! A perfect winter’s day for a perfect proposal!

They started the day with a wine tour in a private shuttle to four wine farms in the area. They had wine tastings and tours of the farms they visited. Carley had been asking Trevor to take her on a wine tour for some time, so he wanted to include that in their special day.

The next part of the plan was to surprise Carly with a picnic styled lunch that included a puzzle using love notes. Trevor designed the “notes” with text from their favorite song. (Savage garden – Truly, Madly, Deeply) In the Watermark behind the writing were the letters “Marry Me”. On arrival at the boat house we had tied all the love notes to the bridge. We did have some fun with the wind and the notes, but all perfectly in the end. Carly then had to collect the notes and build the puzzle that spelt out the magic words! Trevor got down on one knee and popped the question! We captured the whole proposal on film, with our secret photographer hiding in the bushes.

After that they opened the bubbly, celebrated and enjoyed their lunch! They stayed in a luxury cottage that night, we had put special treats in her room for yet another surprise. Cupcakes that said “I love you”, her favorite flowers and candles to set the mood. They also enjoyed a romantic dinner that night for two! The most romantic Babylonstoren marriage proposal ever 🙂
