Chad & Trisha’s proposal

Roundhouse proposal

On the 14th June 2014 Chad and Trisha got engaged! It was a very romantic Roundhouse proposal.

Chad wanted to arrange a romantic weekend in Cape Town for his proposal. They are a lovely couple from Joburg and have been together for one year. He had booked Shark Cage diving for the Saturday afternoon as it was cancelled due to weather problems the last time they were in Cape Town. As we know the weather can be unpredictable this time of year so we suggested venues and ideas that were inside so the weather would not be a problem for them.

We booked a romantic dinner at The Roundhouse restaurant for the proposal. It would be a late dinner as they would get back from Gansbaai late afternoon, unfortunately the shark cage diving was rained out yet again, but the other plans we had put in place were not affected. As it was Trisha’s birthday, she thought the dinner was to celebrate that but little did she know what was about to happen. Chad popped the question at dinner, when they received their desserts. We suggested using the ring in a creative way at the end of dinner so she did not expect a thing. He requested dessert served with “Marry me” and the ring placed on that. The chef’s at the Roundhouse were only too happy with his request and had a great time designing something special for him. It was straight out of a movie, a very sweet idea, excuse the pun 🙂 Trisha was very surprised and said YES! The champagne was opened and the celebrations began. A very special Roundhouse proposal indeed!

Chad told us his definition of ‘a perfect proposal’ was something low key. It must be a complete surprise to her. Something elegant, personal, private and romantic that captures the moment so its very memorable to them both. We think we captured all of this on their special night!

The following day Trisha was in for another day of surprises. They drove out to Delaire Wine Estate in Stellenbosch and enjoyed a welcome drink on arrival. They then had a couples massage at the beautiful spa on the estate. Lunch was then served at Indochine restaurant which was very cozy as it was another rainy day in the Cape.

The last surprise was Hayley our photographer who was waiting for them once they returned to their hotel in Camps Bay. Chad wanted to include the beach in the proposal, but due to the bad weather the only idea we could offer was doing a couples shoot on Camps Bay beach. Lucky enough the rain stopped and it cleared for the shoot to be in the chosen location. They got some magical photo’s which completed the fun-filled weekend full of surprises. We had to share a few photo’s of the happy couple.

We congratulate them and wish them the best of luck for the future. They will have to come back to Cape Town soon for the third attempt to Shark Cage Dive, hopefully the weather behaves next time! Happy wedding planning to you both!
