MAWETHU AND XOLISA PERFECT PROPOSAL
On the 21st of August, Mawethu asked Xolisa to spend the rest of their lives together…AND SHE SAID YES!
Mawethu and Xolisa are from Johannesburg originally, but are currently staying and working in Port Elizabeth.
They met each other 7 years ago in a library on campus, where their relationship blossomed. Their similar interests and hobbies also helped shape their relationship through travel, dinners and fine wine! They are also equally comfortable in each others’ company just relaxing and watching series together.
Mawethu had approached us for some ideas as he was not 100% sure of which type of proposal he wanted, so Melinda customized his proposal for him.
The proposal was taking place around a date very significant to Xolisa, which was the 2nd celebration of her father’s life. Mawethu felt it was time to celebrate this, along with new beginnings in the form of commitment to Xolisa.
In a beautifully composed email, Mawethu “invited” Xolisa to view Port Elizabeth from a different angle, and she was informed that they would be spending the evening at an undisclosed guesthouse, where they would have a photoshoot and then dinner. She accepted the invite, of course!
We had arranged for a chartered 30-minute sunset flight, so that Xolisa could see the beauty of Port Elizabeth’s night lights, from “a different angle”. Upon arrival, she was greeted by the videographer, Dirk, who accompanied them on the flight to capture the experience.
Once they had landed, they made their way to the Guest House, where Xolisa and Mawethu were met by the fabulous staff and management. On hand to also greet them was the photographer, Johan.
After checking in, they were offered refreshments and the opportunity to “freshen” up before the couples shoot we had arranged for them. Of course, this was part of the plan to get her to the suite, in order to propose!
Upon entering the suite, where the photographer and videographer were strategically hiding to capture the magic, Xolisa was met with the most romantic setting of “I LOVE YOU” letter lights, softened lighting and beautifully scattered petals in the shape of a heart. The “MARRY ME” letter lights positioned next to her magnificent bouquet of flowers, and the ring, which Mawethu took, went down on bended knee and proposed to her. And then, she said YES!
Once all the excitement subsided, they were taken through the guest house to have their couples shoot. But there was one last surprise in store for Xolisa…
We had secured the private dining room with the most romantic lounge area and fireplace, for their exclusive use for the evening, We set up the table with lovely serviettes and ribbon as per her favorite colours and tea light candles all over the room to add to the ambiance. Mawethu also liked the idea of a musician, so we arranged a pianist and trumpeter, Dayton & Reece, to play romantic background music for them. With only a day’s notice, these two young musicians also managed to learn and play her favorite song, to which the newly engaged couple danced along to…how romantic is that 🙂
Mawethu and Xolisa Perfect Proposal was stunning. It was an absolute pleasure to have been part of making this magical evening possible for this stunning couple. Congrats!
