Mareza and Neil Forest Wedding - The Perfect Proposal

On the 12th March 2016 Mareza and Neil got married. They had the most amazing wedding in Stellenbosch at a venue called Forest 44. It was a lovely hot summers day for these two love birds.

We first met this incredible couple in 2014 as we helped Neil plan his perfect proposal. It took place at Waterkloof Winery in Somerset West and Mareza obviously said YES! A couple of months later when they asked us to plan their wedding we were only too happy. We started discussing the details and they both had a pretty clear picture of what they wanted.

Their wedding colours were white, green and red. The theme was forest and they wanted to get married outdoors. Forest 44 was a perfect venue for an outside ceremony and indoor reception. Liz created lovely table settings which brought in their forest theme. We used moss, wooden logs and a pops of red. Mareza’s favorite flowers are red barberton daisies so she asked if we could bring these in for that pop of red. They really did look great against all the greenery.

Their ceremony was outside in the garden under the trees. They had 126 guests on the day which was perfect for that space. After all the vows and rings were exchanged they had pre-drinks on the balcony outside. We places cushions on the stairs for guests to sit on. The venue served pimms and beers to get the guests ready for the party. Neil is a photographer by professional, see his work here thus their couple shoot was very important to him. Charl managed to capture some lovely couple shots, especially the scenery ones.

The reception was held inside the wedding hall where all the tables faced the dance floor. It was important for them to have a large dance floor as they knew all their guests would dance the night away. As they entered the hall for their grand entrance a video of happy memories was shown on the screen. A lovely personal touch to show guests what they have done and been through.

The venue did the catering and bar service. They served dry aged fillet of beef with veggie side dishes. The guests were spoilt with the lovely wedding cake as dessert. After the speeches were done they opened the dance floor with their first dance to Ed Sheeran – Thinking out Loud. The wedding was a huge success and the guests had lots of fun. A huge celebration for this special couple who deserve a lifetime of wonderful memories.
