Keri and Tim wedding at Vrede an Lust

Travelling all the way from the UK to celebrate with their closest family and friends, Keri and Tim chose the breathtaking Cape Winelands as the setting for their unforgettable wedding day. Vrede en Lust provided the perfect blend of elegance, warmth and relaxed countryside charm for their destination celebration.

With 74 guests gathered from near and far, the atmosphere throughout the wedding weekend was joyful and filled with love from the very beginning.

The celebrations kicked off the evening before with a relaxed pre-wedding gathering at the estate. Guests enjoyed informal wine tastings, poolside catch-ups and a beautiful sunset dinner, the perfect way for everyone to settle into the Winelands and spend quality time together before the big day.

On the wedding day itself, the estate came alive early in the morning as preparations began in the Manor House. While Keri spent the morning getting ready with her bridesmaids, Tim and his groomsmen enjoyed a slower pace before heading down to the ceremony lawn.

The ceremony took place beneath the sunshine on the picturesque lawns of Vrede en Lust. Guests were welcomed with bottled water and seated amongst soft florals, elegant white parasols and vineyard views stretching into the distance. Keri walked down the aisle to a beautiful violin and piano rendition of Paper Rings, creating an emotional and romantic moment as she met Tim at the altar.

Following the ceremony, guests celebrated with confetti and congratulations beneath the oak-lined pathways before moving into the Fountain Garden for pre-drinks and canapés. The relaxed cocktail hour captured everything destination weddings should be: sunshine, chilled drinks, incredible food and meaningful conversations between loved ones who had travelled across the world to be there.

The menu reflected the couple’s love for thoughtful, generous hospitality. Guests enjoyed an array of canapés including harissa chicken skewers, mushroom arancini, beef bruschetta and whipped feta tartlets before sitting down to a beautifully curated dinner reception on the Vineyard Terrace.

As the sun dipped behind the mountains, Keri and Tim slipped away briefly for golden-hour portraits amongst the vineyards while candles were lit and the reception space transformed for the evening ahead.

Inside the reception, long tables were styled with elegant florals, candlelight and soft neutral décor that complemented the natural beauty of the venue. Thoughtful speeches from family and friends filled the evening with laughter and stories celebrating the couple’s journey together.

One of the most memorable moments of the night was Keri and Tim’s first dance to “Make Me Yours” by Bettye Swann, a joyful start to an evening that quickly filled with dancing and celebrations late into the night.
