Kamogelo’s and Gomolemo proposal in Umhlanga

Love has a way of creating moments that take your breath away, and for Kamogelo and Gomolemo, one such moment happened on a recent trip to Durban. What began as a birthday getaway turned into a life-changing experience, beautifully orchestrated by a man ready to turn his longtime love into his fiancée.

Kamogelo had planned every detail in secret, telling Gomolemo they were flying to Durban as part of her birthday celebrations. Excited and unsuspecting of anything to the contrary, she packed her bags for what she thought would be a weekend of sun, sea, and sweet moments. But what waited behind the door of their hotel suite would make her heart stop.

As they walked into the room, Gomolemo was met with a beautiful scene straight out of a romantic film. The ceiling above them was covered in floating red balloons.  Fairy lights twinkled softly, and there were pictures of their favourite dates over the years that served as a wonderful nostalgic trip down memory lane for them.

The centerpiece was a simple but powerful message: “Will You Marry Me?” spelled out in illuminated letters, surrounded by petals and candles. Gomolemo gasped, her hands flying to her mouth as the realisation set in. Kamogelo dropped to one knee, holding out the ring that would seal their future together, he made a speech. She said yes with tears in her eyes and a smile stretching from ear to ear.

But the surprise didn’t end there. A professional photographer, hiding in the wings, stepped forward to capture the proposal. The couple then enjoyed an engagement photoshoot, with the city skyline and crashing waves of Umhlanga as their backdrop. Every image radiated joy, intimacy, and pure love.

Kamogelo’s thoughtful planning, the sentimental details, and the perfect ocean view setting, came together to create an unforgettable proposal that felt like a fairytale start to their forever. What started as a birthday celebration turned into the beginning of a new chapter, a story they will tell for the rest of their lives.
