On the 28th June 2014 Hendri and Etrezia got engaged. It was the most amazing marriage proposal at Webersburg!
It was a beautiful day in the Cape, sunshine and blue skies in the middle of winter. Hendri got in touch with us to plan something very special for Etrezia, they were coming to Cape Town and were staying the weekend in Franschhoek. He wanted a venue which was close by and very romantic. They enjoy sight seeing, traveling and relaxing together so we keep this in mind when planning the proposal. They have been together for two years, 1 month and a couple of days as he put it. They met in first year varsity but only started dating later on in his fifth year. All the way from Joburg, he wanted it to be a perfect day for her, one she will remember forever.
Hendri wanted a very private and intimate proposal, that they can spend some time laughing, talking and relaxing. His ideal setting was a wine cellar which included wine tastings in beautiful areas. We knew just the venue and planned a private picnic styled lunch in the cellar of Webersburg. This wine farm is in Stellenbosch and has the most stunning views of the mountains and very secret cellar which was the ideal spot.
Hendri and Etrezia first went to Waterford for a chocolate and wine tasting, which is was their first stop of the day. Etrezia thought she was visiting farms all day, little did she know what had been planned. Apparently the whole family had got involved to throw her off course about the proposal, they had all told her it would be next year. On arrival at Webersburg, they had a small wine tasting and then asked if they wanted a cellar tour. Audrey, the lovely staff member from Webersburg led them down the stairs and straight to the set-up hidden in the cellar. We decorated the cellar with lots of fairy lights, petals and flowers. Using Etrezia’ favorite things that meant a lot to her, a perfect setting for some alone time. The photographer was waiting to capture the proposal. Etrezia was VERY surprised and emotional, Hendri went down on one knee and said those magic words “Will you Marry me?” She said YES though tears of joy!
As it was such a beautiful day they were lucky enough to take some photo’s outside on the farm, which came out really well. After the photo shoot they went and enjoyed their private lunch and popped the bubbly to celebrate!
We wish them all the best and hope their future holds many more happy memories! Keep smiling and laughing which we saw at the proposal, Congrats!
