Grootbos marriage proposal

On the 31st of July 2021, Danielle and Heinrich got engaged.

Heinrich is one busy man, so we eventually found a date that was suitable for all. Once this happened, we quickly booked at Grootbos, which is one of our favourite venues in Cape Town.

This eco, fynbos filled private nature reserve is just beautiful. It is situated in Gansbaai, so near Hermanus. It is a 5-star lodge with views of mountains, ocean and forests. It is as all the elements come together and then you experience this in luxury in a natural environment.

On arrival, this lovely couple enjoyed lunch. Then they went horse riding through the fynbos where they arrived at a picnic table. Danielle loves horse riding thus Heinrich really wanted to incorporate it into their special day. At this viewpoint, some bubbly was placed on the table and a hidden photographer. On approach, Heinrich went down on one knee and asked the love of his life to marry him, she said YES! Kathryn who was hiding the surrounding bushes captured the proposal on film.

After the proposal and some celebrations, they went back to the lodge for a private dinner in the wine cellar. We really do love this venue, as they provide excellent service, food, and vibes.
