Engagement Ring Trends
There are some exciting new trends coming through in the style and colours of engagement rings currently. Whether it is just a subtle update to a traditional style ring, or a totally unusual and unique band design or stone colour, future brides are getting creative with their rings, adding that unique and personal element.
The shape of the diamonds has made a significant move towards fancy or different shapes, with the oval and pear shapes especially becoming significantly popular. Details like extra layers of diamonds being added below the main stone in the galley or even on the side edges of the band have made an appearance, making these rings look just that much more special. Some of the bigger diamonds are looking even more significant with delicate halos being placed around them in different patterns. Another multiple diamond trend is the three-diamond ring, with the main diamond being the largest, accompanied by a smaller diamond on either side. There are also some different permutations of this, where the diamonds are shaped differently with some having baguette shapes, some oval, and even some with an extra diamond added to either side.
In a throwback to what was previously favoured by brides to be, yellow gold is making a massive comeback and looking really fresh in its current day iterations. There is also a mix in colours coming through, where yellow gold is being paired with other colour metals, so the look is kept updated. Stacked rings have gained popularity over the last little while and are still looking very new and relevant currently. There is a lot of opportunities to create a personalised look with stacked rings, by mixing colours of stones and metal colours between the rings. Future brides are changing the main stone from a diamond to another colour stone, as well as mixing white gold, with yellow gold and even rose gold!
There are so many new ideas coming through with engagement rings, it’s creating a really exciting space for each ring to be unique and personal to every future bride!
