Durban Wine Cellar proposal
Sibusiso and Khwezi’s proposal was beautiful. What she thought was her birthday celebration turned into a life-changing moment, well planned and filled with emotion, surprise, and love.
Our brief was a proposal that personal, something that would celebrate Khwezi’s birthday while secretly setting the stage for one of the biggest moments of their lives. An exclusive private wine cellar that provided an elegant space that perfectly matched the couple’s style was the ideal location.
On the evening of the proposal, the wine cellar was transformed into a romantic haven. The atmosphere was enchanting as soft lighting bounced off the glass walls, candles flickered between bottles of fine wine, and the deep scent of red roses filled the air. At the centre of the setup stood a glowing neon “Will You Marry Me?” sign, adding a modern touch to the sophisticated bistro.
Khwezi arrived under the impression that she was joining Sibusiso and a few of their close friends for a dinner to celebrate her birthday. She had no idea what awaited her as she stepped inside. She was greeted by the warm smiles of her friends, the ambient music echoing softly, and the décor that instantly set a romantic tone.
Then, as Sibusiso took her hand and led her to the glowing sign surrounded by red roses, time seemed to stand still in that moment. He got down on one knee and asked the all-important question, “Will you marry me?”
Khwezi’s reaction was filled with joy, surprise, and tears of happiness. Her friends erupted in cheers as she said yes, sealing the moment with laughter and applause. The room was filled with love, not just between the couple, but shared by the special friends who were present and who had been part of their journey.
To make the evening even more memorable, a professional photoshoot captured every moment, from the look of surprise on Khwezi’s face to the tender embrace that followed her “yes.” These photographs now serve as a beautiful reminder of a night that marked the beginning of their forever. After the proposal and engagement photoshoot, the celebration continued with an intimate dinner among friends. Glasses were raised in toasts to love, laughter, and new beginnings.
Sibusiso and Khwezi’s proposal reminded us that sometimes, the most powerful moments happen in the quietest spaces, surrounded by love, friendship, and the magic of saying “yes” to forever.
