On the 8th June, Deon asked Nolene to marry him and she said YES!
When Deon first contacted us, we knew it was going to be a special proposal! Nolene had booked a weekend away for them in Cullinan, and Deon wanted to surprise her with a proposal on their way through to the venue. He knew he wanted fairy lights and candles, and most of all the surprise element for Nolene.
Deon and Nolene love their fine dining and wine and so we chose the wine cellar at Brasserie de Paris in Pretoria for the occasion. We decorated it with curtain fairy lights, candles, rose petals and Nolene’s favourite flowers – purple tulips! On arrival for dinner, Deon asked to use the gents room and the waiter took him straight to the wine cellar where he waited in a circle of rose petals and candles at the end of a short walkway for Nolene. We then took Nolene on a tour of the restaurant (to give Deon a few moments to ready himself) and asked her to please follow us into the wine cellar to choose a wine for the evening. As soon as she stepped into the cellar she saw Deon and the look of surprise and happiness made for some great photos! Deon then gave a beautiful speech before asking the girl of his dreams to marry him! She said yes! Monica did a great job of capturing the moment on film.
The couple then enjoyed a 5-course degustation menu with wine pairing before setting off for their weekend away. Deon and Nolene wine cellar proposal was magical. We wish them all the best for this great journey they have embarked on together.
