Simon’s Town Marriage Proposal

3rd October 2025

On the 3rd of October, Viwe asked the love of his life, Anna, to marry him and what a magical moment it was. Set at a spectacular villa in Simon’s Town that could easily be mistaken for the French Riviera, this proposal was the perfect blend of elegance, emotion, and joy.

Viwe had told Anna that they were escaping the city for a little anniversary weekend. After checking into their Airbnb, the two headed down to the marina for a few afternoon drinks, giving us just enough time to transform the villa into a scene straight out of a dream.

As the sun began to dip over the ocean, painting the sky in soft golds and pinks, Anna returned to find a heart-shaped arch overflowing with white florals, candles lining the pool, and the words “Will You Marry Me?” glowing in the background. With Carla on the saxophone setting the mood, Viwe got down on one knee — and the rest was pure magic.

What made this proposal even more special was the energy and warmth that radiated between them. Viwe and Anna are one of those couples who fill the room with laughter and light. Every moment of this day was full of fun, emotion, and that kind of love that makes you believe in happy endings.

Congratulations, Viwe and Anna, what an unforgettable start to your forever.

A marriage proposal is a pivotal moment in any couple’s journey, a declaration of love and commitment that sets the stage for a shared future. Imagine such a proposal unfolding at sunset on a sea view deck, where the natural beauty of the surroundings elevates the emotional significance of the event. The setting meticulously chosen, serves as a perfect backdrop for a memory that will be cherished forever.

As the day transitions to dusk, the sky becomes a canvas of colours. Hues of orange, pink, and purple blend seamlessly, casting a warm glow over the horizon. The sea, calm and vast, reflects the sky’s magnificence, creating a serene atmosphere. The gentle sound of waves lapping against the shore adds a melodic background, enhancing the moment’s tranquillity.

On the sea view deck, adorned with candles, orchids, and rose petals, the scene is set for romance making it an idyllic spot for such a significant event. The air is filled with anticipation and excitement, as everything seems to align perfectly for this special occasion. The moment is intimate as if the world has paused just for Cayson and Saveena.

Working with Cayson in preparation for this momentous occasion was an absolute pleasure as he knew what he wanted for Saveena.  He wanted an elegant and sophisticated white proposal to tie in with her love of white orchids and on seeing the set up she was blown away by his thoughtfulness in remembering all the little things that she values.

What a fabulous occasion filled with love and laughter.  We wish Cayson and Saveena all the best for their future together and may all their dreams come true. It was a special sunset Durban proposal. Thank you for choosing us to assist you.

On the 16th of June 2023, Tranaldon and Fae got engaged! It was a stunning sunset proposal in Durban.

Our client contacted us three months ahead of the proposal and this gave us plenty of time to chat about the various ideas that he had in mind and so we got to know his requirements well. We planned everything out perfectly and made all the necessary arrangements for a perfect proposal. We booked the venue, photographer, hired items, and ordered 120 red roses! He could then relax in the knowledge that his vision would be brought to life on the evening he planned to propose to his girlfriend and ask her to be his wife. He wanted lots of candles and red rose petals as well as two beautiful vases filled with red roses flanking the gold MARRY ME sign. A simplistic yet sophisticated setup.

Tranaldon had told Fae that they were attending a surprise birthday party so she was completely taken by surprise when she walked out onto the deck and saw this perfect setup that was awaiting her. He went down on his knee, and asked that special question, “Will you marry me?” she said YES!

A sunset sea view deck proposal, how absolutely stunning is this elegant setup – well done to our team in Durban! We couldn’t be happier for both of them, and we wish them all the best in this exciting new chapter of their lives together!

Kolkol mountain lodge is hidden in the Overberg mountains, where they have lovely log cabins or pods to book. Kolkol is best known for its invention of the KOLKOL hot tub.  All their accommodation have hot tubs in them so it is ideal for a romantic getaway.

“Visitors to the Western Cape or the Overberg will find that this lodge offers a truly South African Experience. Just an hour from Cape Town and set in a tranquil and peaceful environment with sweeping views of the Babylonstoren Mountains, this self-catering accommodation offers the perfect breakaway for couples, family, and friends of all ages. Relax in a private wood-fired hot tub while enjoying a glass of fine local wine. Curl up in front of the stone fireplace surrounded by the fynbos of the Cape Floral Kingdom. Join us at KolKol Mountain Lodge and explore something out of the ordinary.”

On that day, we traveled to Kolkol to set up their room. He wanted items that he could keep and we could set up and depart. We used her favourite flowers, proteas, a light-up marry me sigh, lots of fairy lights, candles, chocolates, and rose petals. The photographer stayed to capture their special moments. Our lovely client booked a night, where they enjoyed lunch together, then returned to see the room decorated. He popped the question and she said YES! Then it was hot tub time!

He would like to keep their identity private, so we will gladly respect his wishes. 🙂

Wishing them all the best on this magical adventure together.

On the 11 of October 2022, this stunning couple got engaged.

Adam and Nabela had their first date on Milnerton beach, overlooking the iconic silhouette of Table Mountain, and he knew, that this was the spot he wanted to pop the question, exactly one year later.

Adam was very clear about exactly what he wanted, and we just helped him bring it all together. We setup on the day and were so lucky it was wind-free and a gorgeous day. Milnerton beach is known for the wind, so they were blessed with Cape Town magic. He had requested that we create a pathway with sign boards of the ‘7 reasons I love you’ leading up to a special picnic, where he would drop to his knee, and ask the love of his life to marry him.

The photographer and all their closest family and friends were hiding behind a little hill to watch the special occasion unfold, and were there for a special moment with the couple afterward, before leaving them to enjoy their romantic sunset picnic together.

Sunset beach proposal – how stunning is this – well-done team!!! We couldn’t be happier for both of them, and wish them all the best in this exciting new chapter together!

On the 7th of August 2022, Callie and Brandon popped the question.

Brandon contacted us a while ago to chat about some ideas, then it took a few months of planning to come to finalising a date and venue. He knew he wanted something fabulous, that was breathtaking and romantic.

Brandon initially wanted an inside venue, so we tried a few inside rooftop venues and then opted to book a room. He was worried about the weather as she gets cold easily. (such a sweetheart). We booked the cellars Hohenort in Constantia, they have a few event rooms that would work well. It just so happens that on the day, Cape Town was showing off, it was a warm sunny winter’s day. We just love when the weather plays along thus we decided it has to be outside so they can enjoy the gardens.

We used the palm arch and placed the marquee letters that spelt “marry me” on the lawns. We also added in some of her favourite flowers and a box of chocolates, a little gift from us. We also got a musician to play their favourite song while he proposed. This was a secret that was only shared on the day, Vicci plays the guitar so beautifully and wanted to showcase her work. Please contact her for more info: 073 5387105. Jodi was the photographer taking the photos, just a magical setting.

On their arrival, Callie and her mum and sister joined as they thought they were just going to a family dinner. As Callie turned the corner, with Brandon holding her hand, she was breathless and SO excited. The letters shone, the music played and he popped the question. They celebrated with bubbly, photos, hugs and kisses.

Callie and Brandon perfect proposal was stunning, congrats to the happy couple. All the best for the new exciting adventures ahead.

This wonderful couple got engaged at the 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa. They have asked to keep their identity private, so we are happy to oblige. We have many couples who propose and wish to keep it private, this is due to being online or family or work. We always respect our client’s wishes.

For now, we will explain the mountain picnics at the 12 Apostles. if you can imagine being seated on the foothills of Table Mountain with views of the ocean and Lions head. This magical spot can be booked through us or the hotel and used during the day.

“The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa occupies a dramatic location on the flanks of the Table Mountain National Park, and there’s nowhere better to enjoy a picnic. Guests can enjoy direct access to this remarkable World Heritage Site from the hotel, with marked paths leading through our indigenous gardens and up onto the mountain. Pick up a luxury picnic, thoughtfully prepared by our chefs and filled with tasty picnic fare, and head out onto the trails for an open air adventure”.

There are a range of picnic options to choose from, they have luxury baskets for couples who wish to indulge and others that are more affordable. You can then add a bottle of bubbly or wine to enjoy onsite.

“A handful of secluded picnic sites within the hotel’s fynbos gardens offer wonderful mountain and ocean views, with plenty of outdoor space and fresh air. Order a bottle of Champagne to toast a proposal,  anniversary or other special celebration against a spectacular sunset backdrop. Our luxury picnics also provide the perfect ambiance for a romantic date night.”

On this particular day, we booked Stanley’s Rock which is the top picnic site on the mountain. The couple got escorted up there to see the frame that said: “will you marry me?”. Jodi, the lovely photographer captured the proposal, followed by a couple’s shoot on the mountain. The views are amazing thus giving the couple the best photos as keepsakes. We always order the picnic food to arrive after the photos are completed, to give the couple time to enjoy nature, the views, the photos, and then indulge in the food.

The weather plays a part at this venue, thus you need to keep an eye on it. Wind or rain can affect the mountain picnic spots and would need to change to an inside venue. To conclude; the 12 Apostles picnic proposal is a great idea, get in touch with us if you wish to book.

Congratulations to a fabulous couple, we wish them all the best on this exciting journey ahead.

On the 19th of June 2022, this lovely couple got engaged. He asked, and She said YESSSSS!

We celebrate Cape Town with this magical proposal. The big rock is situated in Bantry bay which has amazing views of Clifton beaches, Table Mountain, and Lions Head. You can access this area from 2 roads that lead to these rocks. Once on the rocks, you have 360-degree views, which is just perfect!

At certain times the rocks are empty and you will have this area to yourself, but if the weather is amazing, it can get busy with others around. Bear this in mind if you looking for a private spot, this one can be popular.

On the day the couple arrived, it was a stunning evening in Cape Town which meant there were other people around. We had placed a marry me sign up for their arrival. Once was on the rock, the crowd cheered as he went down on one knee. They arrived as the sun was setting as you can see from the photos.

Lesley took some lovely sunset photos and then we left for them to enjoy some quiet time. Cape Town sunset proposal is always a great idea.

We wish them all the best on this happy journey ahead.

On the 16th of March 2022, Nicole and Stanton got engaged.

This wonderful couple came down from Richards Bay where they both work and live. Cape Town was the chosen location where Stanton popped the question. They have been together for 12 years so the time was right.

We booked them in for a romantic night at Tinswalo Atlantic. This wonderful venue is located near Hout Bay, on Chapman’s Peak drive. The setup was done near one of the private lounges, as the pool area was busy and the beach too windy. We had a few fun times with the marry me sign blowing away thus the final location was chosen.

Nicole loves orchids so we brought her a few to take home and cherish. This was part of the decor with an added box of chocolates to enjoy.

As mentioned, on the day it was a colder windy Cape Town day, the couple arrived and Stanton proposed with the ocean in the background. She said YES! Jilda our fabulous photographer captured the proposal on film. They enjoyed a photoshoot on the property, which if we may say, is one of our favourites. The ocean and mountain views are incredible, a quiet tranquil space in nature. After the photos they enjoyed a dinner on the property, this is by Chefs Warehouse.

Stanton and Nicole perfect proposal was one of our best, congrats to this happy couple. We wish them all the best on a happy and exciting journey ahead.

“She ever shines her light across the bay, in hopeful search for love that sailed away. He left the land with plans to bring back gold, to ask her hand to wed, the story’s told.”

On the 28th of February 2022, Hilton and Kelly got engaged!

They reside in the UK and came to Cape Town for a romantic holiday. We just love chatting to tourists who are coming to Cape Town to pop the question, because we get to show off our beautiful country! This client was no different from the others, Hilton wanted it all.

They would fly in via helicopter from the Waterfront, going on a scenic tour around Constantia. Landing at Klein Constantia wine farm which is a hidden gem. Here they got taken on a wine tour with the farm manager who tells them a little bit about the history, the wines, and the vineyards. The last stop is the proposal spot, this time we used an area near the lower dam as Hilton wanted a Bohemian marriage proposal. This entailed hiring the fabulous SOUK decor for the occasion. We used an area by the dam that was lush, and best for a Bohemian picnic.

Hilton also wanted us to hire a musician who would play their favourite songs. Shen sang and performed 3 songs that were discussed with Hilton and played during and after the proposal.

We got onboard one of our best photographers, Jodi who captured their picture-perfect moment. Jodi was hiding behind the trees, and then popped out once the couple was engaged. This is how we like the proposal to be photographed, TOP SECRET.

It was such a special moment when Hilton got out of the 4×4, took kelly’s hand, and led her towards the setup. Kelly could see the “marry me” sign on arrival but the real magic happened when Hilton got down on one knee and asked the woman of his dreams to marry him. She said YES!

They enjoyed lunch at the Bistro after the proposal, which is highly recommended for anyone visiting the Constantia area. Congrats to the happy couple, wishing them all the best for a happy future together.
