On the 31st May 2021, She asked, She said yes. This was such a fun marriage proposal to plan.

Masego and Letlotlo came to Cape Town on holiday. During their stay, Masego wanted to pop the question to her long-time partner of 10 years. She wanted something different, like an art studio or gallery. A place where they could paint, create or view other people’s work.

They were staying near the V&A Waterfront so we wanted to plan something close by. We have had a fun idea in mind for a while, this was the perfect time to execute it… ART JAMMING.

They had a private session at the Art Jamming studio in the Waterfront. The studio designed and created a “marry me” sign which was used as the grand gesture in the proposal. On arrival, this wonderful couple entered and we pointed them to the “splash” room. Here stood an easel with a yellow and black art piece. Letlotlo was told to start peeling the flaps, which revealed letters to spell “marry me?”.

It was such a sweet moment, where Letlotlo was completely shocked and Masego thrilled to be popping the question. As mentioned above, SHE ASKED, SHE SAID YES!

After the sign was revealed fully and the proposal happened, they enjoyed a couples shoot around the Waterfront. On their return, we placed flowers and bubbly at their painting stations, where they got to paint their own canvases. We have no idea how they flew home with all three art pieces but we think they did… 🙂

Congratulations to Masego and Letlotlo, we hope you have a happy and fun future together. “Creativity takes courage”.

On the 12th December 2021, Aidan & Nanette got engaged!

We love assisting young, vibrant couples who we can see are so in love! The words we have just used describe this couple beautifully.

Aidan got in touch, he wanted something private, magical, and romantic. We had the perfect spot in mind as it is a private deck in the heart of the Constantia Valley. This lovely spot is 100% private with views of mountains, vineyards, and bushes. On our arrival, it looked more magical than planned, the surrounding plants were all in bloom. Just imagine purple flowers everywhere…

Sian, our lovely photographer arrived and jumped into the bushes to hideaway. To explain our professional photographer’s job further, they capture the decor, views, and proposal area. Following that they hideaway to remain secret to capture the marriage proposal. After the “yes” and a few celebrations, they start the couples shoot. The couples shoot can last anywhere from 30 mins to 1 hour. It all depends on the couple, timeline, and venue. Once the event is done, they send a link so the couple can download the photos. From here you can use them online, make prints, or even create a photobook. Another lovely idea is to use them for your wedding “save the date”.

While Sian was hiding away, Aidan and Nanette arrived at Silvermist. We met them, said hello, and walked them to the magic spot. From here it was all up to Aidan to ask that important question, “will you marry me?” Can you guess the answer, Nanette said YES! 🙂

They enjoyed a photoshoot amongst the purple flowers, followed by a lovely garden lunch. It is so wonderful to see a couple so in love and happy.

Michelle and Claudia have been together for 9 years and they live in Johannesburg. Michelle was down in Cape Town for work and decided to fly Claudia down for the long weekend so that they could have a weekend away together. Michelle told Claudia that they had a ‘photo shoot’ on the beach. Little did Claudia know that she would soon be engaged!

After setting up their picnic proposal, we were very worried about the high tide that was slowly creeping up on us. It was amazing to watch the waves form around everything we had set up and never touched any of our décor. The weather that was meant to be overcast cleared up just as we started setting up and it ended up being a beautiful, sunny and windless afternoon.

Michelle and Claudia made their way down the stairs and onto the beach where all their favourite quotes were written on sign boards. There were little hearts cut out that helped create a pathway with a few photos of the couple placed in between. When they walked around the rock, there was a heart made out of rose petals and this is where Michelle got down on one knee and asked Claudia to be her wife. SHE SAID YES!

The couple then enjoyed a beautiful picnic on the beach and had time to take in the reality of what had just happened. Kathryn, the photographer made sure to capture all the special moments on camera and took some beautiful photos of the very happy couple.

Michelle and Claudia are a remarkable couple who share a love that is like no other. It was an absolute blessing to have been a part of this memorable day. We wish them nothing but the best for their happily ever after together.

Louw got in touch with us as he wanted to arrange something very special for Kirsten. He mentioned it had to be an occasion that they will talk about forever. It had to be intimate and private, just the two of them enjoying the moment. He loved the 12 Apostles Hotel as the perfect venue. We met him at the hotel a few days before and chose the picnic spot where the set-up would be. The views over look the ocean and mountains, a really beautiful location for such a special event.

On the day they arrived by helicopter to the hotel. Jilda, our photographer was hiding away to capture this all on camera. They then were welcomed by the hotel staff and walked to the chosen picnic site. The weather that day was amazing, sunshine and no wind made it the perfect spot. The table was set-up with the picnic items that she loved, just adding the small details that make it extra special. On arrival at the picnic Louw popped the question, Kirsten said YES! After the moment had passed, Jilda did a small photo shoot with the couple. These memories and photo’s will last forever!

We wish Louw and Kirsten all the best for a happy future together! May you have many more unforgettable memories that last a lifetime.
