Rushen & Venetta’s proposal

One the 31st December 2013 Rushen and Venetta got engaged! It was a magical New Year’s eve proposal.

All the way from Durban, he wanted to surprise her while on holiday in Cape Town. They have been together 5 years and met on Campus while studying. They lived next door to each other… then it all began! He said “I was defiantly attracted to her lovely personality, amazing looks and beautiful smile. I always felt happier when I was around her” We think this is just so sweet!

Rushen wanted something romantic, in the wine lands with beautiful surroundings! We began to plan it for him! As it was New Year’s eve many wine farms were closed so we had to plan carefully to make his dream come true!

On the day of the proposal it was one of the hottest days in Stellenbosch (around 36 degrees) we set everything up on the private deck (a newly built venue) at Brenaissance. This deck is used for the wine tastings, but was the ideal spot for their lunch as the farm was closed to the public that day. This made it so romantic as no one was around except the two of them. We used pinks and lots of roses as this is her favorite!

Rushen and Venetta went wine tasting in the morning to some lovely places, just as a decoy before the proposal. They arrived for the picnic lunch that afternoon, Rushen got on one knee as he entered the deck. We had set-up ‘Neyo – Because of you’ to play when they arrived. (their special song of course). We had photographer’s hiding in the bushes to capture the proposal. She said YES! They then went for a photo shoot on the farm so they could keep those happy memories forever.

They enjoyed the a long lazy lunch and celebrated later that night into the new year being engaged!

We wish this happy couple all the best in the future. Good luck with all the wedding planning and hope you are still celebrating!

Their proposal will be featured in the Durban GET IT Magazine in the month of February – keep a look out for their story! A stunning New Year’s eve proposal!!!
