Lyndall and Peter Wedding at Nooitgedacht

On the 29th July 2017, Lyndall and Peter got married. Yay <3

We can’t say enough how much we LOVED being involved in the planning of this wedding. They are the most amazing couple and the love felt on the day will be remembered for a long time.

Lyndall and Peter are living overseas thus it is hard to plan a wedding while living abroad. They started making arrangments then we came on board to help with on-the-day co-ordination. Their venue was Nooitgedacht, one of our favourites. A truly beautiful venue in Stellenbosch, as it was a winter wedding they had lots of ‘winter ideas’. A coffee stand was arranged, gluwein was served and the ceremony was in the chapel to keep warm. Despite all the winter precautions, it was a beautiful sunny day.

Family and friends played music in the ceremony, a lovely personal touch. Many tears of happiness and love were shed throughout.

Lyndall’s talented mother did all the flowers for the wedding. She was very organised and determined to make her daughters wedding spectacular. Jenny hired in trees to make the reception venue look smaller and warm. The greenery worked so well with her table arrangments. Autumn colours were used for that wintery look.

Lyndall is South African and Peter is Danish, as they had mixed wedding traditions, they decided to bring in some of each. A tradition we loved from the Danish side: when the bride leaves the reception room all other ladies have to line up and kiss the groom on the cheek. This works both ways when the groom leaves the men to line up to kiss the bride. It is one of the cutest things we have seen, it was also very entertaining. Another Danish tradition is when guests stamp their feet or hit their hands on tables, the bridal couple has to get up and kiss under the table & stand on their chairs and kiss.

The food, music and speeches were great. All the guests really had a lovely time and got to know each other well. A perfect wedding for a perfect couple.

Their first dance was another Danish tradition of guests circling the bridal couple and moving closer & closer together until everyone is dancing, then bridal couple gets lifted up in the air.
