On the 7th August 2016 Kieran proposed to Leslie-Anne at Cape Point Vineyards.
Kieran had planned a trip to Cape Town for a holiday. They live and work in PMB, as it’s a small town they had known each other for many years but have officially been together 1,5 years.
We asked Kieran what his definition of a perfect proposal would be: “My perfect proposal would honestly be something simple and bubbly. With a hint of differentiation from any other proposal. An atmosphere filled with surprise and lots of excitement and love!”
Kieran also told us that he wanted to include the family in the proposal. As her family lives in Cape Town he felt they should all be a part of this very happy occasion. Kieran’s mother flew down from Natal, as another surprise, to join in the celebrations.
We send Kieran ideas that were private and intimate with the family joining afterwards but included in our ideas was one that was different from the rest, this caught his attention. We suggested using a bridge and all the family members would each hold one umbrella. The umbrellas would spell out “Marry me?”. We wanted a bridge of some sort to use for the occasion, Cape Point Vineyards was chosen as the final location for its lovely wooden jetty in the dam.
On the day the family had planned to arrive before Kieran and Leslie. They all grabbed an umbrella and stood on the jetty. We must admit we practiced a few times to see how they would work it. 🙂 About half an hour later (just before the wine farm opened) Kieran arrived with the lovely Leslie by his side. He walked to the hill which was opposite the jetty and watched the umbrellas spell out… “marry me?”. He then dropped to his knee holding the ring and popped the question. She said YES!
After some hugs, tears and photo’s they enjoyed a lunch at Cape Point Vineyard. Leslie loves eating out and trying new restaurants so it was a perfect way to spend celebrating their engagement.
Kieran and Leslie umbrella proposal was so special. We wish them the very best for their future together. May their journey be filled with love and happiness.
