JOHANN AND DANIELLE WINE CELLAR PROPOSAL

On the 24th of October 2020, Johann and Danielle got engaged!

Thank goodness that during these extremely challenging times, we are still able to be part of arranging these beautiful occasions to remember forever.

A very confident yet nervous Johann called us to help him arrange a proposal for the special lady in his life. They both reside in Mossel Bay and met each other a “few” years ago. They were just 13 years old, playing “open gates” in the local public swimming pool. Not in their wildest dreams did they know they would end up dating each other! Fast forward to the time just before the pandemic, they officially started their relationship towards the end of 2019.

If this year has taught us anything, we must take nothing for granted, to make the most of each day and live in the here and now. This is what Johann decided to act upon and thus proposed to Danielle along the Garden Route. They had been involved with house renovations, which have been exhausting, especially with Danielle project managing it all. Johann wanted to thank her for all her effort, so we planned a weekend full of celebrations, including a proposal. 🙂

Pampering was the order of the day for Danielle, after checking into Lairds Lodge, they were led to a luxury suite where we had arranged a couples massage. After the massage they drove to the Beacon Isle Hotel to have cocktails, this allowed us time to set up in the cellar for their private dinner.

We called for them to join us at 6:15 pm for pre-dinner drinks, and just before they entered the proposal area, Johann told Danielle he had a surprise for her, but that he had to blindfold her! She is terrified of the dark but went along with it. The photographer was in place, she was lead into the cellar room, which we had set up beautifully with candles, flowers, and fairy lights. He told her to count to three, and then took off her blindfold.

When she did, she saw Johann on bended knee, asking for her hand in marriage. It was a moment to behold!  She started shaking from nervous excitement and burst into tears, and we were all in tears watching her reaction to his proposal…and she said YES!!!!!!! Once all the excitement subsided (only a little) they had a gorgeous sunset photoshoot and then proceeded to the dining area for dinner and celebrations.

We had one more surprise in store for the couple upon retiring for the evening. We snuck into their suite during dinner time, and set up the room with petals, balloons, and scrabble letter wording spelling out their names. We were told it was the perfect ending to a magical day.
