On the 23rd March 2018, Jason proposed to this girlfriend and she said YES!
Ying Ying came to South Africa for work and Jason then joined for a small holiday. They travelled all over and the last stop was Cape Town. Jason decided it was time to pop the question!
He wanted a quiet private picnic at Silvermist, Constantia. The MOST important element of the proposal was to include French bulldogs. This was a non-negotiable so the planning began. They have two Frenchies back in Singapore which they love dearly. As the dogs could not come on holiday we had to be creative of how to include the Frenchies. We do not use live animals unless the couple is willing to keep the animals, in this case, they couldn’t. So we arranged 2 ceramic French bulldogs that had tags around their necks saying “marry me”.
The picnic area was looking lush and green, and Silvermist always creates delicious food. We also arranged some bubbly for the celebrations. Jason wanted balloons along the pathway as he wanted the deco pink & pretty, her favourite.
They arrived on the Red Bus tour and we collected them from the bus stop. Then drove them to the private deck in the forest for their picnic. Jason was carrying a backpack and told Ying Ying to have a look at the deco while he looked for something in his bag. When she saw the dog tags he was behind her on one knee, asking for her hand in marriage. She said yes!!! What a great reaction, filled with happiness and surprise. She did tell us afterwards that Jason was acting “odd” that morning and he was in a rush, which he never is, so she picked up something must be “up”. They had a lovely picnic and took some photos. After the picnic, we dropped them off at Kirstenbosch gardens where they spend the afternoon.
Jason and Ying Ying Marriage Proposal was so much fun! Wishing this lovely couple all the best for their future together. They really enjoyed South Africa and we hope they return to visit soon!
