Hot Air Balloon Proposal

On the 24th of April 2021, Duncan and Kirthanya got engaged.

We are so excited to share this magical proposal. Duncan had booked a private hot air balloon ride for their proposal. He needed our assistance to book a photographer, adding some decor, and assistance with planning the morning activities.

In the early hours of the morning, before sunrise, all the teams arrived at a field in Stellenbosch. The balloon needs to be laid out on the ground, the basket gets decorated and we set up the coffee stand. Then the waiting game begins, we need light to capture photos which can be tricky at sunrise. We also need the weather to be perfect so the hot air balloon can take off. If the weather is poor, the balloon can’t fly.

Luckily on this morning, the weather was perfect and they could fly… up up and away…

Our lovely couple arrives, they walk towards the basket and see the “marry me” sign. As the sun is rising the proposal happens. Our photographer captures the moment, followed by a couples shoot. The couples shoot is so much fun, as we use the balloon which creates magical photos.  It was such a special proposal, so romantic and peaceful.

Hot Air Balloon Proposals in Cape Town is a lovely idea but you will need to budget for the cost of the balloon ride, weather delays, and getting up super early.
