On Saturday the 19th September 2015 George and Sancha got engaged. They enjoyed the most amazing proposal on the beach with their family.
George contacted us to plan a proposal during the family’s holiday in Umkomaas that would be simple, romantic and unforgettable. Sancha’s parents were out visiting from the UK, so it was a very special week away where the whole family was together. Knowing how much her family meant to Sancha, George knew he wanted to pop the question during their holiday and he wanted to include them in the proposal. The plan was to set up a proposal on the beach at Durban’s South Coast. It was incredibly special as they were surrounded by their family the whole time.
We woke up on the big day to dark skies and relentless rain. Holding thumbs throughout the morning, we saw a perfect break in the clouds where we could set up on Umkomaas’s beautiful beach. The lighting of the sky and sea after the rain was exquisite, making for an even more magical beach proposal.
We made signs with cute love quotes and stuck them in the sand leading up to a picnic set up with flowers, cupcakes and bubbly. Each of Sancha’s family members then held up chalk board signs with the words “will you marry me” on each sign.
As George led Sancha down the beach path, the set up was in front of her, where he dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him surrounded by loved ones. She of course said yes! The family all enjoyed the bubbly and cupcakes on the beach, while taking in the breathtaking Natal coastal views, taking pictures and celebrating this treasured moment together.
