On the 28th March 2016 Durian and Kerry got engaged!

Durian and Kerry are both based in Joburg, they first met at a party. They have been dating for 5 years and was time to pop the question.

Durian first got in touch with us as he wanted assistance with finding that perfect venue. He had the bush, nature, game reserves in mind and wanted to include that in the weekend. Kerry really loves the bushveld and wildlife. We send him a range of ideas and venues that he could look through. He loved the idea of being close to Cape Town, so Grootbos Nature Reserve was the chosen location. We booked a luxury suite for 2 nights. If you have not been to Grootbos before, then we really suggest going as its a very special place.

Durian loved the idea of using his surroundings rather than doing it indoors so we suggested the beach or the nature reserve for the actual proposal. He mentioned to us Kerry loves the ocean so the beach in the private reserve was the chosen location. This beach is called Die Kelders and well known for its caves. Its a very quiet beach and has great views all around.

On the day we set up in a small cave as the tides were quite high. Durian wanted signs with love messages leading up to the picnic, which we placed on the path. They had a lovely variety of food and bubbly to enjoy from the lodge. We specially brought a bottle of Moet for them to celebrate. We used lots of flowers, candles and ribbons as decoration. He wanted it to be very elegant, fun and exciting. Jaco and Chloe, the photographers were there to catch the proposal.

The lodge brought the couple down in their van, Kerry thought they were going on a cave walk and picnic. The lodge was in on the surprise, she has no idea what Durian had in store for her. They walked down the stairs and across the beach to the picnic spot. The guide left them and told them to carry on the walk, he pretended he had to check on something. The picnic set-up was ahead of them and at the top Durian asked the girl of his dreams to marry him. She said YES!

We just loved the beauty of this proposal, they were so happy and spent a romantic weekend together. They enjoyed helicopter trips, spa treatments, aeroplane rides, game drives and private dinners. Durian wanted only the best for Kerry.

Durian and Kerry Grootbos beach proposal was one to remember for a long time. We wish them all the best and hope the future brings lots more excitement. Durian wanted the story to be told over and over, we have no doubt it was.
