Durban beach proposal
On the 29th of October 2022, this wonderful couple got engaged.
Tshepo and his girlfriend were going to be in KZN for work commitments and he thought that this would be the perfect time for him to propose. He had an idea of a few options that appealed to him, and we discussed his options as well as factoring in their likes and dislikes. His girlfriend’s favourite colour is black however he wanted to include a beautiful bouquet of red roses for her, so we brought in subtle touches of black in the form of ribbon around the roses etc. He wanted a bright and vibrant proposal. Tshepo also wanted a grazing platter for them to enjoy together after the proposal and photo shoot. This included delicious treats that each of them favoured.
They came down to the beach for an early morning walk and stumbled upon the set-up that was ready and the photographer who was in hiding while waiting for their arrival. After a heartfelt speech, Tshepo was rewarded with a resounding YES! The couple then enjoyed a fun photoshoot.
We feel that sunrise is most definitely the best time of day for a beach proposal set up to be done on the East Coast. There are a few reasons for this, notwithstanding that as the sun sets in the west, our beach is in the shade at sunset. The beautiful lighting that we have at sunrise really makes for a gorgeous backdrop for the photoshoot. It is also the time of day when we have the least wind and are able to have a measure of privacy on the beach. It is usually still dark when we arrive to do the setup and the beach is still so tranquil. The early morning walkers and runners along the promenade always slow down to take a peak on their way past and often offer their congratulations to the newly engaged couple, their joy is infectious! A Durban beach proposal is always a good idea.
We love our job! 😊 Congrats to the happy couple and enjoy all the celebrations.
