Delaire Graff marriage proposal
On the 27th February 2020, Mario asked the girl of this dreams to marry him, she said yes!
Mario and Francheska were on holiday in Cape Town, they came out for a wedding and to see family. They both live in Melbourne, Australia where they moved a few years ago.
Their story is a fairy tale as they have known each other since grade 2, this is where they first met. So to share, they have been together for 16 years!! We just love hearing stories like that, as we like to think love at first sight might be real. 🙂 They both love wine, wine farms and exploring new places.
Mario contacted us months before their trip to plan his perfect proposal. He was so excited about it and family and friends would be involved. They created this ‘story’ to ensure she wouldn’t have any clue of what was going to happen. To start, he booked a dinner for family & friends at Delaire Graff wine Estate. This is one of our favourite venues, so we were very happy to help plan this happy occasion.
This was the idea: the boys were to go out in the morning to play “golf”, this was not the case but they loaded all their golf items in the car and drove off. While the girls all went for lunch and wine tasting around Stellenbosch. We were in contact with Mario and Francheska’s sister so we knew where both parties were to coordinate. The boys arrived at Delaire Graff and waited for the girls to arrive, they did not hit one golf ball by the way :). The girls then arrived thinking they was going to the spa for treatments. We intercepted at this stage and told Francheska to follow us as she needed to sign a document. We led her outside onto the terrace, where we had setup a table with her favourite flowers. There was also a wine box that spelt, “will you marry me?” on the inside. Their initials and date were engraved on the top of the box. The last item was a letter that Mario had written for her to read. While she was reading the beautiful letter, Mario sneaked up behind her and went down on one knee. Sian, our photographer hid away and captured it on film.
Once she finished reading the letter, she turned around to see Mario proposing to her. What a HUGE surprise, it was a really magical moment. All their other family & friends were hiding away and afterwards came to say congrats!
The family celebrated this exciting occasion with a dinner, we decorated the table as another surprise for her. We gave each guest a small bag with chocolates and Francheska received a large box filled with her favourite chocolates. She loves fuchsia pink and yellow tulips, so this was our theme for the decor. Bright, fun and festive for a special dinner.
Mario and Francheska Delaire Graff marriage proposal was so much fun, thank you for letting us share your story.
