Cris and Dominique’s Stunning Helicopter Picnic in Johannesburg

Cris first got his sister to phone us to suss options out for us but he knew he needed something special and amazing for his long term girlfriend, Dominique. An hour later, Cris phoned us back and wanted the helicopter picnic trip we had chatted to his sister about. The plan was all set and the proposal was to take place the following Tuesday as they both were off work that day.

We chose the lovely Kloofzicht Lodge and Spa for their picnic and started to set up the lawn next to the dam. It has such a beautiful view and the nearby trees also provided some shade from the hot Summer sun. Dominique’s favourite colours are pink and gold and we had lots of fun doing the décor for this beautiful picnic.

Cris had told Dominique that he was taking her on a romantic date. She didn’t suspect a thing, although some of her friends did. Once we could hear the helicopter approaching, Monica (the photographer) very sneakily went and hid in the bushes near the helipad to catch them landing. Then she darted back to be in place to capture the proposal.

We met Cris and Dominique in the Reception to the hotel and then blindfolded Dominique so that she would only see the “Marry Me” sign at the last minute. She still had no idea – even when Cris was on one knee proposing and she had removed the blindfold! We love surprising our clients! And she LOVED the ring! It really was a beautiful ring!

They then enjoyed a couples shoot with Monica before having their gourmet picnic. We could hear them giggling all the way as they made their way back to the helicopter to return to the Helivate Aerobase.

Cris and Dominique helicopter proposal was stunning! We wish them both well on their new journey together.
