On the 3rd September 2016, Craig and Cayleigh got engaged. They enjoyed a magical picnic and photoshoot in the Karkloof Forests close to the Karkloof Falls in the Natal Midlands.
Craig contacted us and wanted to plan a whole day for Cayleigh meandering in the Midlands with his final stop to be the proposal at a spectacular location. He knew every detail of what she would and wouldn’t love, so planning was really easy and fun!
We set about planning a day stopping in at all the places that Cayleigh would love. They started with breakfast in Nottingham Road at Café Bloom, spent some time browsing in the many unique shops in Nottigham Road and down the meander to Piggly Wiggly, and then stopped in for lunch at the fabulous Abingdon Wine Estate.
Their final stop was off the beaten track, a beautiful drive winding through forests and stopping at the Karkloof Falls viewing site. This area is so incredibly beautiful that we knew it would make a perfect setting for a proposal.
It was at this location that we set up a romantic picnic for the couple. Under the trees we lay out a blanket, some scatter cushions, hung ribbons and bunting in the trees. We added a beautiful bunch of 3 different types of Proteas (her favourite), chocolates and bubbly to toast the occasion. The path to this setup was made with rose petals.
Kate Martens Photography captured their proposal whilst hiding behind a tree. When we then popped out to say congrats, we were met with an absolutely delighted Cayleigh who was beaming with happiness. She was completely blown away by everything and didn’t suspect a thing. The couple couldn’t stop smiling, crying, laughing and hugging. Their complete love for each other and utter joy in the moment was so apparent that we all seemed to be sucked into this blissful happiness all afternoon. They had a fun photoshoot with Kate and enjoyed a quiet afternoon under the trees.
Craig and Cayleigh Karkloof Falls Proposal will be treasured in our hearts for a long time. We wish them all the very best for a happy future together filled with endless love and laughter.
