Alia and Imraan Wedding Day

On the 7th January 2017, Alia and Imraan got married!

We were so privileged to assist plan this beautiful wedding. One of the largest we have organised to date, with 400 people attending it was one for the record books. The chosen venue was Lourensford in Somerset West. This was a great venue as they wanted elegance, romance and beauty.

Cape Town weather in January as we all know can be VERY hot or windy, but someone was looking after this stunning couple and it was a perfect day. Somerset West had fires in the area but luckily it did not affect the venue. Nothing dulled this special day for Alia and Imraan.

Alia wanted white deco, so orchids, tulips, roses and greenery were all ordered in. The tables were set up in long rows with a bridal table at the end. This was done for space and flow of guests. All items were hired in to keep everything uniform. We set up mostly everything the day before and then flowers were placed on the tables on the wedding day. It was a great team effort from all involved.

Alia and Imraan got married in the mosque that Friday evening so the Saturday reception was the ‘party’. With many events leading up to the Saturday wedding family and friends helped out in any way they could. There was a huge feeling of love throughout the planning.

This wedding had many elements to keep guests entertained, a harvest table was laid out for guests arrival. Paige was hired to sing at cocktail hour and to start the party after the dinner. A coffee and dessert station was set-up for later that evening. We have to make a special mention to Just Baked on their FABULOUS dessert table. This table consisted of the most delicious looking desserts we have seen in a long time. After the speeches were finished we opened the table and a mad rush began as every guest wanted to try EVERY treat!

The food was another item to mention, it was delicious! A 3-course dinner made with love & care. Guests started off with salads, moving on from there to halwa. The third course were platters to the table of chicken, leg of lamb and prawns. A feast for a king!

The speeches were lovely, everyone mentioned Alia as the most beautiful bride and we would have to agree. As you can see from the photo’s And Story did am amazing job capturing their day. We can’t wait to see more photos and the wedding video.
