Alexandra and Niclas wedding

On the 29th of December 2023, Alexandra and Niclas got married.

It was an intimate affair that included 4 guests who were their children so in total 6 pax. They came out from Sweden on holiday to enjoy their time in Cape Town and surrounds. They knew this was the most amazing place, as Niclas had been to South Africa previously, and thus wanted to get married under African skies!

The wedding was held at La Residence in Franschhoek, a stunning boutique hotel. We know and love this venue as we have worked here a couple of times. They were amazing at hosting their family for this day’s event.

The family started by flying in via helicopter, then landed and was given a tour of the property (while Ayeh, our fab photographer followed them around). They then had lunch on the terrace to quiet their nerves, with some refreshments. After this, the ladies were escorted for makeup and hair to begin. The boys swam at the pool and then got dressed in the spa. Once all were dressed, the photographer did some bridal party shoots and played around with getting the best angles.

The ladies looked stunning in all white, Alexandra knew the vibe she wanted and got it right.

The ceremony was held overlooking the dam, where they all listened to Barry the minister, who married the couple.

Coral had arranged the flowers for us, she is an expert in flower design. They wanted a ceremony “arch” and bridal flowers. The cake was made by Arda who executed their famous Swedish strawberry cake perfectly.

We planned a little bubbly tower which they poured after the I do’s. This was followed by the cutting of the cake, delicious canapes, and family photos.

Once the sun was beginning to set, the family moved to Chefs Warehouse for a celebratory dinner. Here they ended the night and returned to the Only & Only after dinner.

We loved assisting in planning their wedding and hope they return to SA soon to celebrate all over again. Congrats to the happy couple and their lovely children, may your years to come be filled with joy.
