On the 18th December 2015 Gareth and Celeste shared a magical proposal at Hout Bay Manor. The whole proposal was around this photobook that Gareth designed for Celeste.
Gareth first got in touch with us as he was in Cape Town over the December holidays and needed some help with the set-up and venue for his proposal. As he was from Joburg he had no idea how to set it up with out Celeste finding out… that’s where we step in. After we sent him some ideas, a proposal at Hout bay Manor was the chosen location. The hotel has a wonderful old cellar that suited Celeste’s love of the ‘old world’ / Edwardian times. She is a big fan of old-fashion things – libraries, history and architecture. She just loves to read The Philippa Gregory Books. After 8 and a half years of being together, Gareth knew it was the right time to pop the question.
As they have shared so many memories together over the years, Gareth wanted something to made that would showcase them all together. We mentioned a photobook and he just loved that idea, it was something she could treasure forever. Gareth spent lots of time creating it on powerpoint and gathering photo’s for the book. We just did the final design for him and sent it to print. The book was called ” The things we share”. It came out beautifully, mentioning all the “things” they have been through as a couple, for example moving houses, holidays and finally on the last page the picture of the ring with the words “Will you marry me?”.
On the day, we set-up the cellar at the hotel. It was one of those hot December days so the cellar was a great option as it was so cool. On arrival Gareth treated Celeste to a manicure at the hotel’s spa. She had no idea what was happening next… Gareth then fetched her and they walked downstairs to the cellar. We had hung fairy lights all over to give it that romantic feel and warm glow. Old paintings hung on the walls of old ships and lots of old wine bottles are stored there. It was an ‘old-fashion dream’. Celeste opened the photobook and as she got to the last page there were those magic words! Gareth asked the girl of his dreams to marry him and she said YES!
Jilda, the photographer took some photo’s after the proposal at the hotel and surrounds. Celeste had no idea but her whole family then arrived to celebrate the happy occasion, they all enjoyed a lunch at PURE restaurant. Their proposal at Hout Bay Manor will be remembered forever.
We wish Gareth and Celeste a happy and magical future together. They were a lovely couple to meet and looked so happy.
