On the 15th December 2017, Travis and Laura got engaged!
We first started chatting to Travis in July and his situation was a bit different in that he worked overseas but was coming home to South Africa for a holiday in December and wanted to propose to the love of his life, Laura, then. Travis and Laura have done some extensive travelling and enjoy going on adventures together so we needed to come up with something a bit exhilarating that would also showcase the beauty of South Africa and together we settled on the breath-taking Cathedral Peak Hotel with a helicopter ride and romantic picnic complete with many personal touches as well as a saxophonist and guitarist!
The mountains provided the most incredible backdrop for the picnic spot and we decorated the area with bunting, photographs of past adventures, loads of roses and the picnic basket was filled with all of Laura’s favourite foods, sweets and drinks. Travis had paid attention to each little detail and we just loved executing this in the setup.
Travis and Laura checked in to the hotel for a few days and on their second to last day he said that they should go for a helicopter ride to finish off their stay. The helipad was a fair distance away from the hotel and I’m sure this felt like the longest walk of Travis’s life knowing that he was about to pop the question. As they the helipad came into sight Laura spotted the giant letters that read will you marry me. Laura told us afterwards that the proposal was such a surprise that when she read the letters it took her a moment to realise that they were for her! Travis then dropped down to one knee and popped the question.
The amazing Tarryn and Troy from African Bear Photography were there to capture each moment and we just love the look of absolute adoration on Travis’s face as he asked Laura to marry him.
Travis and Laura, we just loved being part of your special day and wish you a life filled with many more breath-taking adventures together. Travis and Laura Cathedral Peak proposal was perfect!
