marriage proposal at La Residence

On the 9th October 2015, Roland and Sam had the most amazing marriage proposal at La Residence in Franschhoek.

Roland got in touch with us to assist plan his “perfect proposal” the brief to us was a venue with a view. They love the winelands areas like Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. Knowing this we sent him ideas and venue options for both. He decided on one of the best venues around, La Residence Hotel. This boutique hotel is situated in the Franschhoek valley with a lovely dam in front of the tea house. A perfect spot for a proposal!

Roland and Sam were high school sweethearts back in the day and stayed close ever since. They were friends before they started dating, they met 9 years ago and have been dating for 2 years. As they have known each for so long, their friends are a very close part of their relationship. Sam has a best friend called Sam (oh goodness how confusing) that she is very close to. She told Roland if they get engaged she would like Sam to be around. Knowing this Roland flew Sam (friend) from Grahamstown to be with them on the day.

The plan was set, Roland told Sam they had a work event out in Franschhoek. On arrival they walked down to the tea house, we had decorated the area with her favorite flowers and some petals. Roland asked the girl of his dreams to marry him…she said YES! Little did she know that her friend Sam was hiding away, when she walked down there was a scream of joy! They enjoyed a photo shoot with the lovely Nicola. When they were done with the shoot they enjoyed a harvest styled lunch to celebrate. They all stayed the night in Franschhoek at a hotel down the road.

We really loved seeing such a happy couple enjoy their engagement and wish them the very best for a happy future together.
