Ricardo and Danielle picnic proposal

On the 17th of December 2022, Ricardo and Danielle got engaged.

Four months ago Ricardo got in touch with our team, as he wanted to make his proposal extra special.
He picked a perfect summer’s day in the festive season when Johannesburg slowed down and Danielle and he were on their first day of leave.

Ricardo had the idea of doing a rooftop proposal but then found out that his girlfriend is terrified of heights, so we kept it as low to the ground as possible. The Perfect Proposal team set up a beautiful picnic with a magnificent river view. The nearby stream with a little waterfall added to the tranquil sounds of nature and insured we had a romantic backdrop for photos

The couple arrived in matching black as Ricardo wanted the pictures to be timeless and elegant. On arrival, we checked them into their Riverview room for the night, and after settling in and unpacking their luggage Ricardo took Danielle out to surprise her with their private picnic for two. As they approached their favourite song “Hunger” by Ross Copperman welcomed them in the background, while their delicious feast of desserts was laid out for them to enjoy.

Ricardo went down on his knee and asked for her hand in marriage. He was met with an emotional and affectionate YES! As this was happening the photographer popped out unexpectedly from behind the tree to capture the magical moment.

What a happy, playful, and loving couple Ricardo and Danielle make, and the pictures prove it!

They proceeded to celebrate their engagement with a toast of bubbly and cooled off with a stroll in the stream. As they got more comfortable with the camera and started getting used to being engaged they explored the location and created memories in a few different areas.

Danielle loves the African vibes and the lodge spoke to her tastes. As so many Joburgers were away for the December holidays, their picnic was completely exclusive to the couple’s proposal.
What an absolute treat to see such joy on a perfect day, in a stunning setting for their engagement.
