On the 24th March 2018, the fabulous Kate and Rory got married!
Kate & Rory live in London but were born in South Africa. It was a privilege to assist plan their wedding as they had a clear vision from the start. They knew their venue was Glen Carlou in Stellenbosch. This lovely wine farm has a relaxed feeling and great views of the vineyards. What they most loved about this venue was the food, their families had been for lunch before and always raved about their meals.
They got married in a church near Solms Delta. This is a very cute chapel which is down the road from the venue. A beautiful service was done by Father Joseph who is the priest at the church. After Kate & Rory said their ‘I do’s’ it was off to Glen Carlou for the reception.
The pre-reception was held outside on the paved area near the wine cellar. This impressive wine cellar was open for all guests to have a look around. The venue served canapés and drinks while the guests enjoyed each others company. Kate & Rory had a short couples shoot and were back to mingle with guests, they did not want to miss out on one moment of their wedding day. When it was time for the guests to enter the reception, they were asked to move through the wine cellar and up past the gallery. This gallery has the most spectacular art which is a must-see for all art lovers.
Kate and Rory have skilled family & friends who were asked to do the deco. They brought in all the flowers for the tables. They did garlands of greenery with cylinders of candles to add that sparkle. It was a very simple set up that they organised very well. Kate’s brief to them – bring the outside garden into the venue. They used proteas and fynbos which can be seen all over the farm. The hanging flowers from the roof were done by Creative Nook which brought in another element. Lecinda from the venue was superb in getting the tables laid and everything looking neat & tidy. Overall the reception venue looked stunning! They had 122 guests which filled the area but they still had space for a dance floor.
Once all guests were seated at the reception, Kate & Rory entered as a married couple. The speeches began and what wonderful speeches they were. The most sincere and loving, which shows how much love was in that room. The dinner was a 2-course menu and a dessert table to end. They cut the cheesecake before their first dance and that was added for dessert.
The first dance was so special, after this, the party began and believe us it was a big one. The guests never left the dance floor and had a great time! Overall the feeling of the wedding was LOVE, we could see how much Kate & Rory were meant to be together.
Kate & Rory Wedding Day was beautiful. We wish them all the success in the world. After some hard times leading up to the wedding day, they deserve nothing but happiness. We hope that the future holds great things for this special couple. A huge congrats from us!
