On the 1st September 2018, Jose asked this lovely girlfriend to marry him, she said yes!
Jose first contacted The Perfect Proposal as he knew he wanted something really special for his fiancé-to-be. He pictured a romantic garden setting and a personalised scrapbook of their journey together. We put together different ideas for Jose all based on outdoor, personalised venues for him and Gerda. He chose a romantic, private picnic at Toadbury Hall.
He sent us various pictures and blurbs on each set of memories – he was very organised and set it out clearly so it was very easy to put together his perfect scrapbook. We love an organised client! We used a beautiful, plain black scrapbook and printed lots of Polaroid pictures of their time together – they had been dating for many years so there was lots of content to fill the pages.
It was a really beautiful Spring Day in Johannesburg, we set up the picnic site for them. We arranged a beautiful tepee lined with flowers, rose petals, candles and the scrapbook wrapped up in a big ribbon. They arrived and started to go through the scrapbook. The last page then gave instructions to read the sign that was hidden under a bouquet of roses at the edge of the picnic blankets. While Gerda got up, Jose got the ring and readied himself on one knee. Gerda was SO surprised as she read the sign!
The photographer was hiding in the bushes for the proposal and then even took some pictures while walking surreptitiously passed them and shooting under his arm! After this, they had some photos around the gorgeous hotel gardens before having a delicious picnic lunch of burgers and brownies (Gerda’s favourite).
Gerda couldn’t stop smiling! We love making our clients so happy! Jose and Gerdas picnic proposal in Johannesburg was so special. We wish Gerda and Jose all the best.
