Liv and Nick wedding

Liv and Nick wedding

On the 20th of November 2021, Liv and Nick got married. It was just such a special day for these two love birds.

This wedding was one of the COVID casualties, it was rescheduled and postponed a couple of times until the day FINALLY arrived. Let’s just say it was worth the wait, this wedding was AMAZING! (if we don’t say so ourselves). It was a three-day wedding with pre-dinners, cricket games, and lunches.

The venue was La Roche in Franschhoek, this magical venue is new to the wedding scene and will most certainly become popular it is truly beautiful. They have a ceremony area called the Sanctuary which is built in the middle of a dam, giving the image of it floating on water. The grounds around are filled with vineyards, pecan trees, and open spaces. The reception area, called the festival hall overlooks the whole farm with a mountain behind. We had the pre-drinks on a side lawn near the hall for much-needed protection from the wind. The wonderful detail about this venue is you are welcome to bring in all your own suppliers, ideas, and personality.

Liv and Nick had grand ideas, keeping the wedding simple, fun, and happy. At the end of the day, they wanted to throw a BIG party. Inviting over 500 people with 320 people attending the wedding, it was a great turnout. Most of their friends from overseas could fly in which was good news and South African couples were feeling relaxed about the situation. This made it a gooooood party!

On the day, Liv got dressed at the next door farm with her lovely girls. Nick and many other guests stayed at La Franschhoek hotel, which is about 10 mins away. They arranged shuttles and buses to bring guests to the wedding. Once there they entered the Sanctuary for a lovely ceremony. The ceremony was officiated by Merilyn. After the I do’s the guests filed along the walkway to throw confetti.

The pre-drinks area was set up by MUSE, with a colonial-themed decor. We served g&T’s, wines, and bubbly. The catering was done by Norma who add that British vibe with sandwiches and cheese boards. A string quartet played lovely music while guests chatted and relaxed in the warm sun.

For the reception, we set up the dance floor outside under the trees. It created a festival feeling as the sunset into the valley. The dinner was paella done by Mucho Gusto, a wonderful idea when you have a bigger wedding party. A big mention to Johan from JT events, his waiters and bar staff worked very hard at keeping the venue well organised. There were speeches that celebrated the couple in all their glory.

The best part about the whole wedding, which was exactly what the couple wanted to create, was the party. They had some of the top SA DJs to play, which made the dancefloor electric! Guests danced outside with sparklers lighting up the area.  Due to COVID, there was still a curfew in place, so we created our timeline for as much dancing as possible. As venues have strict laws to follow they closed at curfew but the party carried on at a private location.

Liv and Nick wedding celebrations were fabulous, it will be remembered for a long time. Congrats to the happy couple and enjoy all your future adventures. We loved assisting you to plan your wedding festival, thank you.
