On Thursday 6^th April 2023, Stacey and Richard got married. What a wonderful celebration of family, love, and joy.

Stacey and Richard reside in the UK, Stacey is originally from New Zealand, and Richard is from South Africa. They had a long journey to get to their wedding day, Covid interfered with their plans along the way. At the start, we began planning their wedding with venue ideas and once they had seen a few, lockdowns were happening so they decided to postpone until further notice. After 2 years, they returned and we continued the planning. They were toying with the idea of getting married in Plett, but Cape Town was the chosen city. They viewed quite a few wedding venues and finally decide to book La Paris.

La Paris is a stunning venue between Paarl and Franschhoek. We love this venue as it is adaptable to any couple and style. They have a large open lawn where a marquee or tent can be erected. Stacey choose a Bedouin tent which suited their look & feel of simple and fun.

During the wedding wait, they actually got married abroad and started a family. Their little boy, Caleb was to be included in the wedding. He is just too cute! This meant their wedding was more of a celebration, rather than saying I do’s. They opted for many wedding traditions but included elements of fun.

The ceremony took place in the rose garden, with 92 guests who came from all over the world. They asked a good friend to officiate the wedding ceremony, who shared the couple’s personal stories. After throwing the confetti, it was time to get the party started.

The pre-drinks were held at The Arbour lawn area, we set up a bar with canapés being served. The guests enjoyed some time to mingle while the couple went for their couple shoot with the photographer.

The colours and style were sage greens, white creams, and natural tones. From the gorgeous oranges tones of the seasonal local flowers to the natural oak dance floor, it suited this down-to-earth couple. N-concepts did a great job with the flowers and décor elements.

We booked the band, Me & Mr. Green who played live sets at the reception, they are amazing at getting the party started. The tent looked festive with fairy lights, a full moon, and a packed dance floor.

Congrats to Stacey and Richard, we hope they had as much fun as we did planning their wedding. They were a delight to work with and an easy-go-lucky couple who deserve only the best. Wishing them success and happiness in their future adventures.

On the 24th August 2019, Arthur and Rutendo said I DO!

We assisted this wonderful couple with their proposal which can be viewed on our blog. After being engaged for a few months they decided a small wedding celebration was in order. They first got in touch to assist them in finding a wedding venue that met their brief. The venue needed to be in Constantia, with a private area for a dinner of 24 guests. After sending some options through, The Cellars Hohenort was chosen.

The guests list extended to their closest family and friends which created a very special intimate wedding. They got married at St Michael’s Church in Rondebosch, followed by drinks on the lawns then dinner at the venue. A private venue was booked thus thy had lots of speeches throughout the evening.

They have very talented friends who offered to play some live music on the night. A wonderful gift to the couple, as they sang and played all evening.

Jilda, we booked as the photographer to capture their wedding. As you can see, she did a wonderful job of capturing their special moments.

The couple’s brief for decor & flowers was keeping it simple with fresh flowers and lots of candles. The colours scheme being blush pink and gold. Coral created a magical floral array on one long table. It looked stunning! As the sunset, the candles were lit and the wedding party enjoyed a 3-course dinner.

The wedding cake was made by Wade which are always delicious. The cake comprised of two tiers, one layer being Poppyseed and the other chocolate. Guests could enjoy the cake later on in the evening.

The Wedding of Arthur and Rutendo was magical, wishing this wonderful couple a happy future together. We hope to plan the next exciting “event” in your life.

Michelle and Stian live in Norway and have done so for a couple of years. As most of their family and friends live in South Africa, they decided to get married in Cape Town. They loved the idea of a wedding on a wine farm. After going through lots of venue ideas, Zorgvliet was the chosen place.

Zorgvliet is situated in Stellenbosch, along the Helshoogte Road, this area has the most beautiful views of surrounding mountains & valleys. On the property, they have a lovely Chapel which was the ideal setting for a ceremony. They chose to use the chapel as January can be very hot in Stellenbosch so shade is most welcome compared to sitting outside. The ceremony was lovely and personal. Some guests even sang the African sounds of cheering and lots of laughter filled the room. We just loved this mix of the African and European crowd all coming together to celebrate the love of this special couple.

The venue offers a tractor to transport guests around the farm. So after the ceremony, the guests congratulated the couple and off they went on the tractor to pre-reception. The pre-drinks were held on the outside balcony near the reception area. The pool was also open for kids to swim and play lawn games. It really was a very relaxed wedding with guests enjoying the food & drinks. They had a harvest table filled with delicious cheeses and bread. Michelle and Stian had photo’s taken during this time and once they were done, we ushered all guests to be seated for their grand entrance.

The reception venue is a lovely space, Michelle wanted raw wooden tables with garlands of greenery. The colours for stationery were navy and rose gold which complimented the overall look & feel. Michelle loved the look of ghost chairs, so those were brought in for seating. Liz did a great job of making the tables look beautiful. As it was a child-friendly wedding she made up a child party packs so they could be entertained all evening. They had a big dance floor and bar right next to it so they were not short of space for a good party.

The venue does all catering and the food was amazing! There were a few speeches but the big surprise was Michelle stood up and sang a song for Stian, we did not know she had such an amazing voice!! Another surprise that we loved was, all guests received a small flag under their side plate to use when opening the dancefloor. The first dance was “Can’t help falling in love with you” then straight after all guests joined the dance floor with their flags to sing “wavin flag” song. This was to show all the nationalities around the world coming together. It also got everyone on the dancefloor and the party began.

Michelle and Stian Wedding was beautiful, we wish them all the happiness in the world. May all your dreams come true and you remain a happy family!
