They enjoyed a fun day in the sun, with an incredibly impressive sand sculpture on the beach to set the scene.

Jody got in touch with us and wanted to fly down from Johannesburg for the day to surprise Kailash with a day of fun and one big surprise! He knew that he wanted to propose on the beach and wanted to create a sculpture out of sand to mark the occasion

We got in touch with Lucas, a local sand artist on Durban’s north beach. Lucas spends his days creating these incredible sculptures for people to enjoy as they walk up and down Durban’s golden mile. We asked him to build a massive heart and then to write “Will you marry me Kailash?” in the heart.

After weeks of planning every detail of their day trip, the day finally arrived. The weather could not have been better and Lucas created something completely mindblowing for the couple. Not only did he build the heart, he set a whole picnic scene, complete with a sand heart table and a sand heart chair. We decorated the entire sculpture with lots of roses and rose petals.

Jody took Kailash for a delicious lunch at the Oyster Box hotel, and they then headed to the beach where we were all waiting.

Upon arrival, you could see the complete joy on Kailash’s face as she saw the massive heart with that all important question written into the sand. Jody got down on one knee and Kailash said yes! Neville Nixon captured this happy scene on camera. The couple enjoyed sipping on some bubbly and enjoyed sitting in the wonderful sculpture that Lucas had created. They then had a photo shoot along the beach, running in the waves and enjoying their happy occasion. It was such a fun afternoon with so much joy and happiness radiating from the happy couple!

Jody and Kailash sand sculpture proposal was such fun to organise. We wish them everything of the very best for a happy future together.
