Set against a field of pink watsonias and sweeping ocean views, Sumie’s proposal to Desire was a moment filled with love, intention, and deep emotion.

What began as a playful treasure hunt for Desire and her two daughters turned into one of the most meaningful adventures of their lives. Each clue brought them closer to the final surprise, a picturesque picnic setup overlooking the sea, with a bouquet of bright orange marigolds waiting at the center. The marigolds, Desire’s birth flower, were a symbol of warmth and devotion — the perfect reflection of what this moment represented.

When Sumie got down on one knee, emotion swept through them all. Both girls were tearful and overcome, witnessing such a beautiful declaration of love and commitment between two people who have built something so special together.

It was a deeply personal reminder that love, in all its forms, is worth celebrating with the ones who matter most.

On the 27th of November 2019, Dan asked the girl of his dreams to be his wife. Can you guess what she said… YES!

Dan and Beth were coming to the Cape for a holiday. They love exploring and travelling so knew all about the city.  Dan had a grand idea in mind for the proposal, he wanted to use the BIG ROCK which is on Lion’s Head at sunset. We know this area well and arranged all the details for him.

Sian, our photographer was booked and on the day arrived early to “secure” the spot for this fabulous couple. We watched the weather closely and knew it would be the perfect evening! The couple arrived and made their way to the “chosen rock” which has the most incredible views of Clifton beaches, 12 Apostles mountain range, Table Mountain and Lion’s Head in the background. The flowers at this time of year are always wonderful thus making the views even better.

The couple sat down on the big rock and Dan popped the question. Sian managed to capture the proposal beautifully. She was behind them and secretly took some photos of their engagement. Once the ring was on the finger, the waved at Sian and began a couples shoot on Lion’s Head.

We arranged a bottle of non-alcoholic bubbly and some treats for them to celebrate. They enjoyed watching the sunset into the Atlantic ocean.

All the way from Sydney Australia, David and Sam were on holiday in Cape Town. Little did she know that he was going to pop the question. They have been together for 4 years and the time was right.

They both love outdoor activities, adventure, sports and fitness. David wanted the venue to be intimate, personal and have amazing views. He did some research and asked about Table Mountain. The original plan was to go up Table Mountain, take some photo’s then abseil down as a leap of faith. The only problem was on the day the cable car was closed due to weather. As Cape Town experiences high winds, the cable car can close on short notice. This meant we had to come up with another plan for the proposal.

As he wanted views of Table Mountain, we told him about a secret spot on Lion’s head. The plan would be to do a short walk to this spot. As it’s hard to find, we would pretend to be a tour guide and take them on a hike.  He was happy with the plan and was set into motion. The shuttle collected them from the hotel and brought them to Lions Head. We met them there and walked to the proposal spot. The photographer was hiding to capture the moment. David saw the heart of pine cones, dropped to his knee and proposed. Sam was SO surprised but managed to say YES 🙂

We arranged a picnic box to enjoy after the photos were done. Some delicious bubbly, cheeses and snacks to enjoy in their own time.

David and Sam marriage proposal on Lions Head was so special. She was so surprised that this hike turned into one of the biggest moments of her life. We were glad to see such a happy couple. Wishing them all the best for the future.
