On the 10^th April 2021, Shiven asked Letatia to marry him and she said yes! It was a beautiful Autumn’s day at a hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg.

Shiven first contacted us looking for a romantic picnic proposal for his partner, Letatia. We knew exactly what to offer him! So we set up this beautiful private picnic at Ten Bompas Hotel. Her favourite colour is teal and we think the colours all worked together so nicely. We also hung pictures of the two of them as bunting and set up a low table for them to enjoy the picnic on. The food looked so delicious! We added dried flowers like bunny tails and pampas grass in the colour scheme too. And lastly, a little Marry Me sign so as to try to keep the proposal a surprise until the last minute.

The two arrived for lunch under the pretence that it was just a casual weekend lunch. We pretended to work for the hotel and led them to their picnic site. The photographer, Monica Stewart, pretended to be a guest of the hotel relaxing by the pool so that she could sneakily capture the proposal before approaching the couple. Letatia had no idea what was coming (and we think she looked gorgeous in her summer outfit and hat)! She was so surprised, totally caught off guard and said a resounding YES! It was a very sweet proposal to witness.

The two then had a couples shoot around the private hotel grounds and they looked so happy and in love. They then enjoyed a delicious picnic and some bubbly while phoning their friends and celebrating! All round, it was a wonderful day and Shiven was so happy that he could surprise Letatia like this.

On the 15^th February, Leslie asked Shonal to marry him and she said YES!

Leslie first contacted us in early January requesting more information about a helicopter proposal. We have some wonderful helicopter trips to offer in Johannesburg and he chose our 20 minute helicopter flight that lands at a lovely 5 star hotel in Magaliesberg/Muldersdrift areas for a picnic for two.

They arrived at the aero-base in the morning and Shonal had no idea what they were doing or where they were going – can you imagine how excited she was to climb aboard a R44 helicopter! And off they went to the beautiful Kloofzicht Lodge and Spa. The lodge has some animals (buck, zebra etc) and so they could spot some animals from the air before landing.

Our secret photographer, Minisha, was hiding in the bushes to capture them getting off the helicopter. Shonal was then blindfolded and led to their picnic site. We had framed pictures of them, décor matching her favourite colours, and a big Marry Me sign set up next to a peaceful dam. When her blindfold was removed, Shonal was so surprised.

Leslie got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him and she said yes! Minisha then approached them to get some lovely couple shots of them which are perfect to use for their Save The Date. They then enjoyed a lovely picnic and celebrated in private with some non-alcoholic bubbly. They then climbed back on the helicopter for their scenic trip back to the aero-base.

On the 6^th July 2019, Nick asked Sandy-Lee to marry him and she said YES! Nick and Sandy have been dating for two and a half years and Nick knew her so well that he planned a super romantic treasure hunt for her that morning! She would go on the treasure hunt with her sister and soon to be sister-in-law and they would eventually find Nick and our set up 😊

The morning started with Sandy being handed her first clue and a beautiful single red rose. The clue took her a foot massage with the sisters. Then the next clue took her to breakfast and then on to a secret destination that meant something to the two of them. Then it was off to their first date spot for margaritas before they jumped in the car to arrive at The Residence Boutique Hotel. Nick and Sandy had not spoken the whole day and Nick was anxiously pacing up and down waiting for Sandy to arrive!

We had set up the private Boat Lounge room at the hotel with a romantic table for four, a canvas with a picture of the two of them, Marry Me sign, a trail of rose petals and bouquets of her favourite flowers and our lovely violinist, Kristel of Cherry Pill. Nick had requested a list of romantic songs for Kristel to play but specifically for Train’s Marry Me to play during the proposal.

We collected Sandy and her sisters from the car park and led them to the Boat Lounge. She was so nervous walking in and instantly broke into a smile when she saw him. It was so romantic, and the sisters got to witness the whole thing with not a dry eye in the house. They then all enjoyed a lovely lunch to celebrate!

On the 24^th May, Jacques asked Fran-Mari to marry him and she said YES! It was a beautiful Autumn’s day in the Cradle of Humankind (Johannesburg) where Jacques got on one knee and Fran-Mari giggled with happiness as they became engaged. They met at a church camp and, on the day he proposed, they were 2 weeks short of their 7 year anniversary together!

Jacques first phoned us knowing he would like to propose in the bush and he wanted it to be completely private. We knew just the place for him and made it extra special by including a helicopter trip there and back! They woke up extra early to leave from Bloemfontein to catch their helicopter to The Cradle Boutique Hotel. This lovely hotel is part of a game farm and they have a picnic site that is only accessible by 4×4.

Once they had landed from their thrilling helicopter ride, their game ranger whisked them off to the picnic site. They were dropped a few metres from the picnic site and Jacques blindfolded Fran-Mari as they approached it. We had decorated it with pink and rose gold accessories (her favourite colours), framed photos of them, a Marry Me sign, rose petals and Fran-Mari’s favourite flowers. And we captured it all on camera!

Fran-Mari was so surprised when she opened her eyes and she couldn’t believe it! She was all giggles and smiles as she said YES! She loved the setup and even took the time to look at each photo and each decoration (in-between admiring her ring 😉).

Leandrie then stepped in to take some stunning photographs of them, as they explored the game farm and enjoyed their picnic.

They were then picked up again by the game ranger and taken to the helipad. And off they flew into the distance to start their new journey together. Jacques and Fran-Mari bushveld proposal was stunning!

Rishi and Bhagyashree have been best friends for 5 years and dating for 1.5 years. They met while both studying the same degree at the University of Pretoria. Rishi knew that he wanted something perfect for Bhagyashree and he had watched our social media for a while until he saw a couple of ideas he liked.

We decided to do a beautiful setup on the terrace of the Maslow Hotel that was booked out just for the two of them. They arrived for spa treatments and once Rishi’s treatment was over, he disappeared to change into his suit and meet us outside. He had previously dropped off an outfit for Bhagyashree (without her knowing) and once she had finished her manicure, she was handed a letter that asked her to change into the dress hanging in the ladies’ changeroom. Waiting there for her were new earrings, a new dress, shoes, handbag and makeup. Rishi spent a few nerve-wracking moments waiting for her while she got changed.

She was quite confused and surprised but once she was dressed, she followed the clues to meet Rishi outside. She looked so beautiful! We had decorated the terrace with pictures of them in a heart-shaped frame, lots of vases of her favourite flowers and a copper arch with a Marry Me sign. She was so surprised to see Rishi waiting on one knee underneath it! He gave a short speech, asked the big question and she said yes!

They then enjoyed a photoshoot with the lovely Leandrie Du Plessis, and phoned their friends and family with their good news!

We just loved doing this proposal at the prestigious private gardens of Beechwood Gardens (owned by Christopher and Susan Greig of the famous jeweller Charles Greig’s family)! The gardens are so beautifully maintained with roses everywhere, open lawns, winding paths and amazing sculptures and fountains.

Rico knew he wanted somewhere private and romantic to propose to Mariska, and that she would love something with fairy lights and a small picnic. He also wanted to include a photo wall of the two of them. We knew Beechwood would be perfect for this!

Rico came up with an elaborate plan to get Mariska to the gardens without her being suspicious. He even so far as to make up a fake wedding invitation inviting them to a colleague’s wedding there. He was so convincing that Mariska didn’t even realise that the setup and Marry Me sign were all for her as she was busy looking for the other wedding guests! Only when she realised that it was just her and Rico by the fountain and that he was holding a ring did she realise what was going on.

We had decorated the rose garden with festoon lights (bare bulb lights), a copper pipe arch with greenery and a Marry Me sign hanging, a heart frame displaying pictures of them and set up a blanket on which to drink their favourite bubbly.

Minisha, from Minisha Ramadu photography, then took them to explore the gardens for their couple shoot and we love how their pictures came out.

Mariska and Rico then enjoyed the gardens all to themselves under the twinkling lights until the sun was well set.

Vishnu first contacted us in early January from Vietnam where he is working. He was coming home to South Africa in February and he wanted to propose to his long-term girlfriend, Sangeetha, in a garden setting with a photographer.

We sent Vishnu a few different ideas for our garden proposals and he loved the Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa as they have a great Urban Escape accommodation special. Plans were underway and Vishnu didn’t have to organise anything (we did it all) as we know how hard it is when you are out of the country – this really helped Vishnu’s nerves and put him at ease.

Rain was forecast for the day but the weather was perfect – cool and cloudy. They arrived under the pretences that they were meeting Sangeetha’s sister there for dinner (her sister was actually in Cape Town). We led them to their table which was outside in the private gazebo. It was decorated with curtain fairy lights, red roses, a chandelier, a beautiful candelabra and rose petals. Sangeetha saw the table and knew something was up and when she turned around Vishnu was on one knee! She was very surprised and overjoyed!

They then enjoyed a photo shoot with their photographer, Leandrie, as Vishnu wanted a professional picture for their Save The Date. Dinner was served in the gazebo and then Vishnu surprised Sangeetha with the overnight stay in their luxurious villa suite that we had decorated with rose petals. Sunday morning brought breakfast in bed and then a massage at the amazing Balinese spa.

Vishnu and Sangeetha’s Private Gazebo Proposal was stunning! Vishnu was very thankful for a perfectly organised proposal and Sangeetha loved every second! Once again, our biggest congrats to the happy couple.

From the moment we first chatted to Richard, we knew this was going to be such an amazing proposal! Richard knew exactly what he wanted to happen – he wanted to take Leigh-Anne away for 2 nights to Welgevonden Game Reserve and have his and her family there to surprise her as he proposed. We immediately thought of the lovely Clifftop Exclusive Hideaway Safari Lodge in Welgevonden and set about organising the proposal. A proposal like this with lots of surprise elements must be organised meticulously so that everything runs on time so not to ruin anything!

Leigh-Anne is a teacher and so we booked them a mid-week break on the 12^th – 14^th December. Richard had also booked for Leigh-Anne’s parents and sister, as well as his own parents and sister, to join them at the lodge. Richard and Leigh-Anne arrived midday, had a relaxing gin and tonic and then we sent them for a massage in their room so that their families could sneakily arrive at the lodge and check in to their rooms without Leigh-Anne seeing them.

At 16h00, Richard and Leigh-Anne then set off on their afternoon game drive with a few of the other guests of the lodge. Unbeknownst to Leigh-Anne, her family members then set off on their own game drive a few mins later. At sunset, Richard and Leigh-Anne’s vehicle stopped at the sundowner spot and they climbed off the vehicle to stretch their legs. A few minutes later, their family all pulled up in the second vehicle and Richard dropped to one knee as she saw them.

She was very overwhelmed and said “YES!”. They enjoyed a celebratory drink altogether and then climbed into their family’s vehicle to head back to the lodge. There, the lodge had organised them a private area for their dinner and the family bought helium balloons and flowers to decorate the table. They then enjoyed a lovely dinner altogether, as well as the remainder of their stay.

Richard and Leigh-Anne Game reserve proposal was so special! We wish them all the best for their upcoming nuptials.

We loved doing this proposal! Jehron and Carla live in Port Elizabeth and were coming up to Johannesburg with their best friends from Cape Town, Zahn-Mari and Aldré. They were so excited for their weekend as it was also Carla’s birthday so we could organise lovely things for them to do and Carla would have been none-the-wiser that it would end with a proposal!

We organised Zip-lining for them in the morning out in Hartebeespoort and then they had couple massages at the Saxon Hotel and Spa. After their massages, Jehron told Carla she was having her hair blow-dried for her birthday dinner that night and that he would meet her in the spa reception afterwards. Zahn-Mari was with Carla while she was pampered and when she went to meet Jehron in reception, she was instead handed a note and a box filled with over 60 photos of their time together. The note also told her that there was a Rolls Royce waiting for her and Zahn-Mari downstairs to take them to dinner.

Meanwhile, Jehron and Aldré had arrived at The Residence Boutique Hotel in Houghton where we had set up the deck of the Madiba Suite with over 140 roses, candles, balloons, fairy lights and a gin bar! It looked amazing! There was a pathway of rose petals and candles leading Carla straight to Jehron. Jehron and Aldré even had a delicious gin to try help the nerves while they were waiting.

Moments later, Zahn-Mari and Carla arrived in style in the Rolls Royce and they made their way up to the Madiba Suite. Carla was so surprised to see the setup and Jehron on one knee. The couple has always had a love for Oreo McFlurrys and so Jehron was holding one with the gorgeous ring hanging on the end of the straw!

Their friends then joined the couple to celebrate! They had a lovely dinner on their private terrace under the stars before they went out to meet up with Carla’s family who Jehron had flown up for an extra surprise!
