Keletsi had been planning this surprise well in advance. He knew exactly what he wanted the day to feel like: intimate, emotional, deeply personal and taking into her account her love of the beach . One detail stood out immediately: sunflowers. They are Onthatile’s favourite flower, and for Keletsi, incorporating them wasn’t optional; it was essential.

We chose a quiet stretch of beach where the sunrise would be uninterrupted and golden. Sunrise proposals require careful planning, as timing is everything. We coordinated the setup in the early hours of the morning, working in the dark as the sky slowly began to change from deep blue to gentle pastels.

The setup featured a heart of sunflowers at the centre of a beautifully styled proposal spot facing the ocean. Soft neutral tones were used to complement the natural surroundings, allowing the bright yellow of the sunflowers to shine. Thoughtful details were layered throughout, petals in the sand, subtle décor elements, and a focal point that framed the moment without overpowering it. Everything was designed to feel effortless, romantic, and perfectly suited to Onthatile.

Keletsi arrived with Onthatile just as the sun began to rise over the horizon. What she thought was a simple birthday morning outing turned into a moment she would remember forever. As she took in the scene and realised what was happening, the emotion was undeniable. When Keletsi got down on one knee, the world seemed to pause for just the two of them, the sound of the waves, and the glow of the rising sun.

She said yes, joyfully, tearfully, and with the biggest smile. The sunrise painted the sky in shades of gold and pink, mirroring the happiness of the moment. After the proposal, they took time to soak it all in, capturing beautiful photographs and celebrating the start of a new chapter together.

Keletsi’s sunrise proposal was a perfect reminder that the most unforgettable moments are created when love, planning, and personal touches come together. By honouring Onthatile’s love for sunflowers and choosing a peaceful sunrise setting, he created a proposal that was as unique and radiant as their love story.

Imagine this: a tranquil beach, the gentle whisper of waves caressing the shore, and the sky tinged with the first hues of dawn. This idyllic setting set the stage for one of the most memorable moments in Sameer and Kayla’s love story – a surprise marriage proposal at sunrise.

We had meticulously planned every detail. He knew Kayla adored the beach and a romantic proposal alongside the ocean would be perfect for them.

As the day approached, we made sure everything was ready. We had the ideal spot in mind, and we sent Sameer the final details, including where to park. There was to be a tastefully casual setup of blankets, a few cushions, and a bouquet of Kayla’s favorite flowers, their delicate fragrance mingling with the salty sea breeze.

On the morning of the proposal, as they walked hand in hand towards the set-up, the first light of dawn began to break, painting the sky in shades of pink and orange.
Reaching the designated spot, Kayla was taken aback by the sight before her. The setup looked like something out of a dream. Sameer went down on one knee and the rest is history – Kayla happily agreed to marry the love of her life.

As the sun slowly climbed higher, casting a golden glow over everything, our lovely couple had so much fun during their proposal and engagement photoshoot.
The beach, bathed in the golden light of the new day, seemed to echo their joy and promise.  Sameer’s surprise proposal was more than just a question, it was a beautifully crafted moment that symbolised the beginning of the next stage in their lifelong journey together. It was a testament to his love and dedication, and a memory they would cherish forever. As they walked hand in hand along the shore, their future stretched out before them, as endless and beautiful as the ocean itself.

On the 30th of April 2023

Not much tops a spectacular sunset beach proposal, especially when everything works out as perfectly as it did for Cam! It was a perfect Autumn afternoon at Glen Beach, and our lovely couple arrived and started walking towards the giant boulders between Camps Bay Beach and Glen Beach.

Cam had created 10 boards with special messages, which we printed and attached photographs to, and used them to create a pathway leading up to the bamboo tent. Once they reached the picnic setup, Cam dropped to his knee and popped the question. This was, of course, followed by applause and cheering from everyone else on the beach at the time.

The photographer captured the big moment and left them to enjoy their picnic snacks and celebrate with a bottle of champagne.  At golden hour, they continued with their couple shoot in the most magnificent light during sunset.

We couldn’t be happier for this special couple, and wish them all the best in the next chapter of their love story! A Boho beach proposal is always a good idea. 🙂

On the 16th of March 2022, Nicole and Stanton got engaged.

This wonderful couple came down from Richards Bay where they both work and live. Cape Town was the chosen location where Stanton popped the question. They have been together for 12 years so the time was right.

We booked them in for a romantic night at Tinswalo Atlantic. This wonderful venue is located near Hout Bay, on Chapman’s Peak drive. The setup was done near one of the private lounges, as the pool area was busy and the beach too windy. We had a few fun times with the marry me sign blowing away thus the final location was chosen.

Nicole loves orchids so we brought her a few to take home and cherish. This was part of the decor with an added box of chocolates to enjoy.

As mentioned, on the day it was a colder windy Cape Town day, the couple arrived and Stanton proposed with the ocean in the background. She said YES! Jilda our fabulous photographer captured the proposal on film. They enjoyed a photoshoot on the property, which if we may say, is one of our favourites. The ocean and mountain views are incredible, a quiet tranquil space in nature. After the photos they enjoyed a dinner on the property, this is by Chefs Warehouse.

Stanton and Nicole perfect proposal was one of our best, congrats to this happy couple. We wish them all the best on a happy and exciting journey ahead.

On the 16th December 2021, Stefan asked Melissa to be his wife, she said YES!

Stefan first came to us and wanted a beach picnic. He wanted privacy and something pretty that was simple and special for her. We booked suppliers and planned the day, at the chosen beach which was Dapat see Gat. This beach is near Gordon’s Bay on the way to Kogel bay. It is secluded and beautiful with all the rocks and cliffs that overlook it.

We call this option a drop-off picnic, this means we supply the food, bubbly, blanket, glasses, and flowers. All the items are the couples to keep and enjoy. This option saves our fabulous couples on costs as we can charge less for our time. If we have to tidy up after the couple we have to wait around for them to be complete as beach locations are public spaces. We can not leave items unattended on beaches or public spaces.

As he guessed, they were alone on the beach with our lovely photographer to capture the moment. Bronwyn hide away when they walked down and up to the picnic area. Once there she captured the proposal on film, followed by a couples shoot. Our photographers love to take photos of the details, these photos are cherished forever. We also suggest using one or two photos as your “save the date” for your wedding. These engagement photos are great to use and guests will love knowing that was your special day.

After she left, they enjoyed a picnic on the beach with delicious food and bubbly to celebrate!

We wish this happy couple all the best for a happy future! Stefan and Melissa beach proposal was a great celebration of love.

On the 9th of November 2021, Yesh & Lira got engaged!

This lovely couple are from Joburg and have been together for 3 years.

We asked Yesh what is “perfect proposal” was and this is what he wrote:

Lira grew up in small town on the North Coast of Durbanalled Tinley Manor- she has always been in love with the beach and since we live in Durban she really misses it. Everytime we go to Durban we have a beach picnic. Lira is really goood at guessing what I am planning or figuring out suprises beforehand so I am hoping this one is what she east expects. I have told her that we are going to do a beach picnic for her birthday and want to surprise her and pop the question to her. My idea of the perfect proposal would be to walk her down to the beach and walk along- admiring the scenery and making her laugh. Eventually getting to the cute little picnic set up and pretending it is someone else, say a few things to her and then ask her the question – will you marry me? 

The above is pretty much how it went down, they arrived on Camps Bay beach. We had setup a picnic spot along the beach for them to enjoy. There was a big ‘marry me” sign with picnic food, a bottle of bubbly and lots of flowers. Once they arrived at the spot, Yesh said a few words and popped the question. Her reaction was amazing, so we think the surprise was REAL 🙂 yay

On the 28th February 2021, Jacques popped the question and Tamerin said YES!

This lovely couple lives and works in Joburg. They have been together since high school, so that makes it 12 years of dating. WOW, can we say true love!

They came down to Cape Town for a magical getaway with some friends and Jacques took the opportunity to pop the question. He called us to assist plan the proposal as he was so busy with work and trying to keep things a secret. This is why we are called those “secret party planners”. He was looking for something breath-taking, but also fun. They both love the beach so much, so the venue was chosen.

In all our years of working in events, we know that beaches over the summer can be jam-packed, so we suggested a sunrise proposal. Jacques really wanted it private so this made the most sense. The beaches at sunrise are spectacular, the sun rises over the mountain and lights up the whole place.

We set up signboards that led down the beach to an end spot, the last sign said: “will you be my happily ever after?” We also used her favourite flowers on each pole to make it stand out.

On the day, this beautiful couple got up bright and early. Tamerin was told that she needed to get dressed as they were attending one of his work meetings. She had no idea that she was actually going to the beach for her engagement. They walked down and took a stroll past the boards to the last one, then Jacques proposed. Bronwyn, our lovely photographer captured the moment on film. SHE SAID YES!

After many celebrations, popping of bubbly and the couples shoot, they went for a brunch in Camps Bay.

On the 28th of November 2020, this fabulous couple got engaged.

Kgaogelo got in touch with us as he wanted to pop the question to his girlfriend, Nadia. They live in Joburg and would be in Cape Town for the December holidays.

He mentioned they love nature and the beach, so he wanted a luxurious proposal on the beach. Kgaogelo sent us a few images of what he loves, we got Limitless on board to hire the decor, from this we created a look & feel for the big day.  We managed the event and booked our photographer for this happy occasion. On the day, they arrived on the beach, he walked her to the spot and popped the question. Nadia’s answer was a resounding YES! The proposal was followed by a couples shoot on the beach. There were a few beach-goers, but this couple did not mind the attention.

When booking a photographer through us, they usually capture the proposal from afar, then come and say hello to the happy couple. Once introductions are done, they leave the couple for 5-10 mins to enjoy the celebrations. After the nerves have calmed down, tears & kisses are done, they start a couples shoot.

This was a lovely Cape Town beach proposal, the sun was shining, a hot summer’s beach day.

On the 28th December 2020, Lloyd popped the question to his magnificent girlfriend, Zainab.

They reside in Joburg and were coming down to Cape Town for the December holidays. They enjoyed a lovely holiday in Cape Town, with the proposal planned for the middle of their trip.

Due to COVID lockdown rules, the beaches were still open at that stage but he made it just in time as they closed the following day! PHEW… talk about timing!! The changes we did have to make were on the timeline, due to curfews in place. So enough about lockdowns and COVID, let’s talk about this stunning couple and their proposal 🙂

Lloyd told her he booked a photographer for a photoshoot, this was the plan and he stuck to it.

Things about Zainab:

– She loves the outdoors – especially the beach!
– Definitely loves to take a lot of pictures
– Beautiful views melt her heart
– She’s definitely a sunset person
– A romantic at heart

From reading the above, his ideas were absolutely perfect. We used Lions Head to start with a couples shoot and then moved to the beach for the proposal. The proposal was stunning and all family was involved.

They arrived on the beach, with Lesley our photographer. They walked to the setup shot, Zainab was so happy and in love! As you can see from the photos, they made one very happy couple. Lloyd popped the question and she said YES! The family gathered around to congratulate them on their engagement! We love the idea of involving family or friends, this brings in another surprise element to the day.

On the 24^th of September, Eugene and Laviene got engaged!

Port Elizabeth is known as the Friendly, windy City outdid herself and delivered the most perfect weather conditions for Eugene and Laviene’s helicopter proposal.

Eugene contacted us at the beginning of September to assist with planning a proposal out of the ordinary for him and his girlfriend (also affectionately known as LV) whilst on holiday in the Eastern Cape. He wanted something private, not in a public area, and hence the idea of the helicopter proposal was borne.

A gorgeous couple who both currently reside and work in Pretoria. They met at their workplace about 3 years ago. After gathering the strength he needed together to approach her, Eugene asked Laviene to join him for coffee and cake, she said yes!

This was the start of a beautiful relationship, after 36 months, Eugene wanted to take to the next level. The brief was simple and effective; Propose mid-way through the helicopter flight, when she least expected it! And from there another idea arose…

Eugene asked a close friend to “surprise” them with a gift during their stay. We arranged for a stunning sunset flight along Port Elizabeth’s pristine coastline. Laviene looked impeccable when she arrived in her gorgeous navy dress and of course, Eugene looked very dapper too! The flight duration was roughly 30 minutes, and en route back to the hanger, passing over the Blue Flag rated beachfront, Hobie Beach, and our stunning Shark Rock Pier, Laviene ‘s eye caught something written in the sand below …….A giant hand-sculpted sand art heart with the message “LV…..Marry Me? Was beautifully written asking for her hand in marriage….

As the saying goes, a picture tells a thousand words, and we hope that you can tell that she was totally blown away!

Whilst they were on their helicopter flight, we set up for celebrations on their return arrival in the hangar.   With Laviene’s favorite colour being yellow we arranged the décor to complement this too! Surrounded by the other helicopters inside the hangar, we set up a table draped in white with yellow ribbon bows and all accessories in hues of yellow, gold, and white, with the balloons and the rose petals and a celebratory bottle of bubbles.   We kept the hangar doors closed so that she would not see the décor, and when we opened the doors, her and Eugene’s emotions got the better of them!  Once composed, a  couple’s shoot followed with the sun still setting in the background,  to capture all the excitement they were both still taking in.  Their close friend joined in on their return to congratulate them!

You can see and feel that this couple is very in tune with each other! They enjoy outdoor activities, romantic dinners,   quality time together, and with friends and are passionate about the upliftment and betterment of people. High on Laviene’s bucket list is a trip to LA one day!

Eugene and Laviene helicopter proposal was so much fun! We had an absolute blast arranging this proposal and would like to thank  Eugene and Laviene for entrusting us with arranging this beautiful occasion. We wish them all the very best and especially with the impending arrival of a little princess in a few months,  to complete this love story!
