On the 16th of July 2022, Desmond & Himy, renewed their vows on the beach.

This lovely couple came out from the states for a holiday to Cape Town. Their trip was planned many months before with a USA agent and SA travel agent who first got in touch with us. We then started chatting with the couple about their event, it was their 10-year wedding anniversary, and wanted to renew their vows to celebrate.

They love the idea of using the beach, we suggested a few, and Camps bay was chosen. This location was magical as the weather played along, being in mid-winter, we were worried. Sunshine with a beautiful sunset, thank you Cape Town.

We arranged with Barry, the officiant, who renewed their vows on the day. They wrote their own vows and read them to each while the sun set behind. Followed by a photo shoot with Jodi on the beach.

• For a cute touch to your vow renewal ceremony: have a love timeline. A pretty timeline that documents you and your partner’s important moments is a creative way to display your love story

Planning your vowel renewal

Similar to planning a wedding, you should begin thinking about what type of ceremony and reception you would like and how many guests will attend. Set a budget and a date and then find a venue. The reception could either be a catered function or it could be a meal with friends and family in a restaurant. We are here to assist you if you need assistance with planning.

Ditch the traditions

Often couples feel pressured by family and friends to have a very traditional ceremony. This time around, skip any traditions that don’t feel right to you. You and your partner’s personalities should shine through with a vowel renewal. You could ask your original bridal party to stand beside you, but this is not a must.
